AIIMS Delhi MDS Admission 2024 for July 2024 Session is expected to begin soon. Admission to MDS at AIIMS Delhi is based on the score in INI CET. INI CET 2024 for the July Session will be conducted on May 19, 2024. The result for the same will be released on May 25, 2024. The counseling dates will be released soon after the declaration of results. AIIMS Delhi offers MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) as a postgraduate course in Dentistry for students who have completed their BDS. The duration of the course is 3 Years. The specializations offered are Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry. The admission is granted through INI CET, Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test conducted by AIIMS New Delhi.


AIIMS Delhi MDS Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates should have completed their BDS from any University recognized by the Dental Council of India.
  • The students belonging to the General Category including OBCs should have attained at least 55% Marks (50% for SC/ST Categories).
  • They must have completed the required period of 12 months of compulsory rotating Internship/ practical training.

AIIMS Delhi MDS Admission Guidelines

Admission to MDS is granted through the INI CET Entrance Exam conducted by AIIMS itself.  

How to Apply?

  • Candidates need to register for AIIMS PG by visiting the official website.
  • After that, if they clear the exam, they need to register for counseling.
  • To register, log in to the MyPage portal, enter your AIIMS PG login credentials, and click on Online Counselling.
  • The applicants need to pay an application fee of INR 1500 for General and OBC category students and INR 1200 for SC/St category students.
  • The sponsored/Foreign National candidates are not required to participate in the Online
  • Counselling/Seat Allocation process. The seat allocation process will have already been done in the result notification.
  • Register again for the AIIMS PG counselling portal using a new password and then they have to exercise choice-locking.
  • Click on AIIMS Delhi in the choice filling.
  • After getting selected students are called for the counseling process.
  • Admission is granted upon verification of documents and payment of fees.

AIIMS Delhi MDS Course Details

The MDS course is offered in the following specializations:

At the end of the first six months of admission, each student is assessed and, in case his/her performance is not found satisfactory, his/her registration may be canceled.

Submission of Thesis and Protocol

The students registered for the MDS course shall be required to get his/her plan of thesis protocol approved by his/her departmental faculty within 4 months of enrolment and submit it to the Academic Section. 

Internal Assessment

Internal assessment/progress reports should be evaluated periodically by the faculty members of the concerned department on the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of a candidate. The weightage of the internal assessment/progress report i.e. 20% marks of the candidate will be added in his/her final examination. 

Research Methodology Course 

MDS candidates are also required to attend the Research Methodology Course within one year of their joining and must clear the exit examination of the courses to be eligible for appearing for the final MDS examination.

Ques. What are the emoluments for MDS candidates at AIIMS New Delhi?

Ans. Junior Residents/Demonstrators (three years tenure period) will be paid a sum of INR 15600 + INR 5400 Grade Pay with the entry pay of INR 56,100/- per month plus NPA and other allowances as admissible under the rules in the first year of the residency as per 7th CPC as applicable.
