Experienced faculty: Many students appreciate the knowledgeable and experienced faculty members.
The had a nice campus and the college had festival and celebrations that were great

Dislikes

I did not like as there were no or very less finance fest or shops from were student can learn
There is not much help related to placements and the number of workshops that the department organises is tiresome.

I really liked the faculty staff and the way of teaching followed here. Although we are in a college but still they care about our studies as the teachers in 10th class used to do to us.
I also like the infrastructure of college. Buildings and college area is not really very big but it is well maintained and clean.

Placement Experience:

Placements by the college are not very very good but there's a catch some of the placements given by the college are very well But students don't only depend on placements here There already have their future plans made for the future after the course completion

The college campus is very beautiful and large

The large size of its campus make it difficult for new arrivals to get exact location in one time

As i am pursuing Bcom , there is a lot of fields available after this degree. And also i am interested in finance field so it makes me feel very confident about my future. One can opt for higher level of studies after Bcom because it opens a lot of pathways after this degree. Also there are many companies and businesses and also banks in which the Bcom degree holders get a job with a good salary.

Dav college is considered as second best college for commerce after sd college and these colleges are associated with panjab university. One of the best thing here is crowd, people of different culture merging here and creating such a vibrant crowd.
No attendance problem, no requirement of minimum 75% attendance, just have to pay the fine which will be around 1000

Dislikes

Poltics here is given more importance than study, which should not be acceptable at all
Library is not up to date, books here are very old and hence are not usable, books through which one can study can't be issued as they are in limited quantity.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Bcom is one prominent course for an commerce student which provides a wide range of fields. There don't teach you how one can use the theory knowledge in pratical application , so they don't prepare you for real world , one itself have to work on them if want to get succeed, teachers may help you if you're ask for help. We have mid semester exams where half syllabus is given to prepare , it is kind of like a test. Whereas we do have semester exams with moderate level of question, one can easily pass even after they study one day before their exams but have to strategically plan about what to study and what to not.

I have specifically chosen this course because i am persuing CA, So its was appropriate to choose Bcom with CA . I am happy to choose this course and exam pattern and timings for exam is also great , There must be a little improvement like , Practical approach should given a priority as compared to theory.

Teacher are very supporting and friendly
it's a great feelings in cllg we will meet new people and learn many new things from them as well

sometimes teachers are coming late according to exam timing and we students has to manage our time in exam

Actually it is my dream to do CA that's why I choose this course and if I talk about improvement in teaching methods then I think not only in my cllg but all over India the major problems in teaching methods are we focusing more on theoretical knowledge but not in practical manner even we know that practical is more important which we have to use in real life so I think we should study in practical manner

College campus is good and clean and has good Library, reading room, and girls common room.
Classes are okay. Infrastructure is okay. College has app which makes it easy to see attendance.

Dislikes

There is no ACs in the classroom and there is no placement for biotechnology.
Canteen is not good in SD college. It needs to be improved.

The college 's canteen is quite neet and clean. It has also been awarded by the chandigarh administration for it's cleanliness
The infrastructure of college is also very big which makes it more attractive and impressive.

Dislikes

The problem of monkeys is a serious problem in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The competitive exams brings the quality of being an arts student. And I want to give some competitive exams in near future, that is why, i opt it. In our college, one semester combines two types. First one is mid semester examination and another one is final term examination. Mid semester examination takes one and half hour 's time for exams. And final term examination takes three hours' time. The mid semester examination is quite helpful for the final exam because it contains mostly 75% of syllabus which makes the students quite helpful in their final exams.

Teachers in bca department have a very friendly relationship with their students. A personal bond is developed with them.
Comouters are uo to date. Technical department does their work perfectly. Even if you face any issue Rakesh Bhaiya is always there to check

Dislikes

Theory rooms does not have ac. Sometimes even fans are not working properly. Alot of humidity in these rooms.
They charge fees for parking area which is underdeveloped. It is always dirty. Tins in the ceiling of parking are broken.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There is still lack of practical knowledge. More focus is given on theory. No new experiments related to field are done to increase the knowledge of students. Theory is taught with excellence. You will literally have points on your fingertips. Practical is done but only from books. In the computer field i personally feel you need to step out of the box to prepare for real world. One cannot rely only on books. They conduct tests on regular basis. After commencement of every semester within 10 days you have your first test. Till Mid sem exams they already take tests of almost half of the syllabus with is one of the best things because it helps a lot in preparation for final exams.

First thing i liked was the college surroundings .
the campus infrastructure , cleanliness , environment.

Dislikes

campus size is a little bit small , and that can be a reason.
those dream packages of more than 20lpa are not there .

Placement Experience:

students are elegible to sit in the placemnts from 7th semester. placements are pretty decent here. almost 80 to 90 percent students get place every year . th highest package is 18 lpa and 12 lpa the average package 6.5 lpa.
