- UIET is improvising in terms of placements, if you are worthy enough and have put efforts throughout, you will get placed easily. TPC is very responsible and understanding.
- Oxygen rich water coolers, library and reading halls are very good.
Dislikes
- Food Quality at Stuc and hostels and Canteen are not very good, there is a problem of proper cleanliness.
- UIET’s Campus is very small. 3 blocks and 1 canteen. You don’t get proper seating to have lunch.
Course Curriculum Overview :
3-4 hours long labs of some subjects are unnecessary like they could assign us the practicals and just take weekly assessments Curriculum is very theoretical and deeply covers all the aspects of the subject. Practicals could be improvised with more creativity and thinking approach like problems. DSA, DBMS, OS, CNS, DCN, CAO are well taught and practicals also work good for placement purposes and they prepare us well for industry level work. Exams happen each semester with medium difficult minor exam of 1.5 hours, easy medium major exam of 3 hours, 3-4 hours long lab assessment final one with medium hard difficulty.
Placement Experience :
7th semester is the placement season. Campus Life :
Pros: PU Wifi Cheap cost of living. AC joshi library Rose Garden for evening walks. Peaceful campus and filled with nature. All boks related to curriculum are available in the library with multiple copies. PU and UIET have strong sports activities hosted in north campus. Mitra is social group conducting donations, visits to elder homes, blood donation camps. Telelabs and DiC provide various high end systems and equipments for projects with stipends and funding for research. Cons: Politics is heavy. PU Wifi is slow with various servers banned. Freshers and Graduation party are to be organised by the students itself, not by seniors or any club. College Clubs are not that good (Bpc, Edc, Magboard, Mitra, Rotaract, Jugaad, Debsoc) Lecture Halls are not Air Conditioned, some are but their condition is not appropriate. Lecture Halls need serious rennovation. Compact Hostel rooms and old. Washrooms are bad. Fests: UIET MUN: Parliamentary Debate Legacy (Aug-Sept) Goonj (March-Apr) Rosefest (Feb)

Admission :
I got admissions in CSE: UIET THDC-IHET IET Lucknow Various Private Colleges Various other colleges in different branches like ECE and Mech. I chose UIET: Amazon took 13 students from here, placements were good as compared to others. Chandigarh as a location is best. UIET is tier 1 because of PU. Heard positive reviews from different sources. I got rejection from JoSAA counselling because of my low JEE rank so didn't able to make it to IIITs or NITs. For admission at UIET: Apply in JAC Chandigarh counselling using JEE Score. Upload documents for verification and eligibility. Report physically for physical verification. You will be given admission letter. Cutoff during my time for cse was:15000-30000 AIR JEE Rank
Faculty :
1 minor exam: 30 marks (medium difficult) 1 major exam: 50 marks (easy medium) Rest 20 marks: Attendance, Assignment/PPT/Quiz Lab Practicals: 50 marks including weekly performance with file and final assessment (medium difficult) For CSE: 5 subjects and 3-4 labs each semester Some subject like Computer Graphics didn't seem relevant to me as it was based on OPENGL. Rest all subjects and practicals were adequate. Faculty I liked: Naveen Aggarwal Mamta Juneja Sakshi Kaushal Priyanka Roy Ajay Mittal They are experienced and pretty understanding towards the students, available for every doubt and also are very supportive. Faculty I didn't like: Vishal Gupta: handwritten assignments are assigned by him, that seems lame because we have internships to work on and it consumes a lot of time. Also he is very rigid in marking. Anu Jhamb: She can be contacted through calls only. Savita Gupta: She is unreachable and is unavailable, she made us wait for 3 weeks for a sign. Sarabjeet Singh: He is TPO, sounds sweet and caring but he didn't help me to avail placement in OYO for which I wanted a NOC and although I got my office work online, happened same with my friend who wanted NOC for CRED. Harish Kumar: He is unavailable mostly, uses Master's students and PhD students to handle his labs. Never taught us anything, once asked me to work on an internship in a project he was handling, I agreed but he ghosted me even after mailing and texting him twice. Faculty: Student = 1:8 Some faculties are easily approached, some are very busy in meetings you need to text them for appointment. Students who fail:10-15 (they have their reasons)
