Likes

IIT Kharagpur is a very calm and placid place with the largest surface area among other IITs. Also the environmental surrounding is marvelous.
The campus offers many engaging activities such as sports, dramatics, skill building etc. Also there are many societies active in the campus which help you to socialize.
The college is equipped with highly talented and skilled faculty. Also the research field of the campus is massive.

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio os 20% to 80% which is very low as compared to other private institutions.

Course Curriculum Overview

From the academic year 2024-25, IIT Kharagpur has made changes in the central curriculum by introducing more core( according to the engineering branch) subjects making it easier for students to reamin centralised to their field.

Class Size: 176Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees is ?100000 for general and OBC, ?33,333 for Gen-EWS and ?0 for St and SC with ?35000 hostel fees(including mess). Some one time payments such as brotherhood funds etc. are required. One can also avail various scholarships such as merit-cum-means etc.

Campus Life

IIT Kharagpur offers various fests and competitions every month keeping you so engaged to make you forget about the time. Also involvements in various societies and club enriches your soulcial as well as working life.

Admission

The NIRF ranking of IIT Kharagpur is 6 making it one of the top colleges in India. The admission to IITs is done on the basis of the student's JEE- Advanced rankings ( which is one of the toughest exam all over India).

Faculty

Faculties are like your parents who teaches you very well and also becomes strict time to time. I remember my Electrical Technology teacher Mr. Chandan Chakraborty, who taught us a very hard subject so smoothly with jokes cracking in between the class. Every semester there are two exams- mid semester and end semester followed by various class and lab tests.

Night Life

The whole campus is super active in the nighttime vomprising of chilling in the hostels or planning night outs with your friends. Many food shops and canteens are open during the nighttime to give you the best out of your college life.

IIT KGP in a sophmores eye

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Approximately 85 percent of the students gets placed . My plans after getting the degree is to get a Software Developer job

Course Curriculum Overview:

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Many companies visited our college such as TCS , IBM ,COGIZINANT, amd many more . The highest package is around 15 lpa and the average package is 4 - 5 lpa . The placement ratio is around 80 - 85 %

NIT DURGAPUR - A Detailed Breakdown

Placement Experience:

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

I chose IIT kharagpur because IITs are the top colleges in india whereas my college IIT kharagpur is ranked 4 in India among all the other IITs. It is the first IIT established in our country. It carries its legacy and pride forever. We get the best education here and good placements. One can enter this college through josaa councelling. We need to qualify jee mains and then jee advanced exams. After coincelling, we get the college according to our rank. I applied for both IIT madras and IIT kharagpur.
