Faculty in my department is one of the biggest strengths, known for their dedication and contributions to reaseach.
Placements at IIT KGP are the best. Top companies visit campus offering jobs.
Campus is beautiful loaded with tall trees and greenary all around.

Dislikes

Hostel and mess facilities are to be improved in terms of hygiene and water supply.
More focus should be kept on mental health and stress management.
Better intra-transport facilities especially at night.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum here is well-structured, offering a strong theoritical foundation with practical applications.It stays relevant by adapting to industry trends and technological advancements. Hands on projects, labs etc.

Internships Opportunities

Here, CDC(Career Development Centre) organizes summer internhsip mainly for pre-final year students. These are often paid internships with stipends ranging from 30000 to 1.5lakh per month, depending on the company and role.

Placement Experience

In third year or 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Highest package is 2.14Cr and the average is 14L per annum. On an average of 75-80% studentas are getting placed in campus placements

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for first year is 273500 Rupees.For the first sem fee is 126750 Rupees and 146750 for the second. In each semester 100000 Rupees is tution fee and the remaining for others like regestration, lab, exam, books. I am currently not aware of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year fee as I am a first year student. For other categories tution fee is exxcluded and remaining fee is common for all (i.e 100000 Rupees is excluded).

Campus Life

Our college offers a beautiful campus life with a vast greean campus, strong hall culture, and lively nightlife. There are many clubs like tech, drama, music, dance etc. Events, late-night waks, night canteens makes my day.

Hostel Facilities

There are study tables, wifi provided at room. The menu is changed for every month and every hall has its own menu. Hostel and mess fee is around 10000 per semester and is truly affordable and worth. Breakfast includes banana, bread with butter and jam, sprouts and boiled egg.

Hostel Fee: INR 45000 per year

Admission

I applied for IIT BOMBAY (Computer science and engineering) but got rejected as my rank was higher than cutoff rank of IIT B. JOSAA takes care of admission in IITs,NITs etc. I finally got into IIT KGP. JEE ADVANCED ranks decide the college in which you study.

Faculty

Prof. Pratha Pratim Chakrabarti (PPC) of CSE dept and Prof. Atul Jain are the best faculty at IIT Kharagpur. There would be two exams- mid-semester and end-semester.and class tests and lab tests before mid and end examinations.

Night Life

The campus is truly alive at night. Night canteens are available at each and every hall. Night-life- late night walks, 2AM Maggi, chilling at Tech market, Tikka, Nehru. There are security everywhere so whole campus is safe to roam around at night.

IIT KGP in a sophmores eye

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Course Curriculum Overview:

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

NIT DURGAPUR - A Detailed Breakdown

Placement Experience:

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

I chose IIT kharagpur because IITs are the top colleges in india whereas my college IIT kharagpur is ranked 4 in India among all the other IITs. It is the first IIT established in our country. It carries its legacy and pride forever. We get the best education here and good placements. One can enter this college through josaa councelling. We need to qualify jee mains and then jee advanced exams. After coincelling, we get the college according to our rank. I applied for both IIT madras and IIT kharagpur.
