Remarks :
Negative is that we have very less space as compared to other colleges. We don't have our permanent campus and the temperature is also very low even in summer season. But yes the positive thing is that due to less number of students the teacher gives attention to each and every student. Hope the matter shared by me is and will be helpful to you.
Course Curriculum Overview :
In my opinion , the courses in this institute ( NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SIKKIM ) is good. We have good faculties who give their best to teach each and every student. We have total 5 branches now. Those are COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING , ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING , MECHANICAL ENGINEERING , CIVIL ENGINEERING AND ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes , obviously our institute provide internships and to almost every student of the institute and in reputed colleges and organisations. As I am in 2nd year so I have not done any internships yet so I don't have any idea about the stipend.
Placement Experience :
The placement and job opportunities are good. My students get job through campus placements and pool campusing. Day by day the placement percentage is getting higher and good. Every year POWERGRID come to place students to their organisation.
College Events :
We celebrate many things in our college whether it is cultural or it is patriotic or whether it's our own college fest. We celebrate two college fests those are : 1) Udgam - cultural fest. 2) Abhiyantran - technical fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is almost same as other govt colleges like IITs and all. If the students annual income is less then 1 lac then his or her tuition fees is waived by the government of India. Another category is annual income between 1 lac and 5 Lacs. Then 2/3rd tuition fees is waived by the government of India. And others have to pay full fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are lots of scholarships which are being provided by the institute to the students. The student should be qualified for the scholarships criteria. I come from Hindu general category family so I don't avail any such scholarships but other categories have availed.
Campus Life :
If we talk about Extra curricular activities then you can have idea that at this remote place you can't have much Extra curricular activities but yes the college always tries that the students must get involved in activities which are being organised. Ya we have labs not much big but yes you can perform almost every experiment. And we play sports not much but yes we play.
Hostel Facilities :
Actually the matter is that the college is situated in Ravangla which is highly remote area so at this place we cannot expect much good infrastructure and facilities. However at this place the all possible facilities are provided.
Alumni/Alumna :
I don't have idea about this As far as I know then there is one network made by our alumni in which we can get connected to them. I don't know anything about this so it's difficult to say that it is helpful or not.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure is a bit good and bad too. If I will frankly say then we have to give total 3 exams which are mid semester-1 and mid semester-2 and at last end semester examination. It's like exams in every month but it also gives chances to students to improve in the later examinations.
Admission :
I got admission in this college by the procedure of JOSAA a government of India body of HRD MINISTRY. At first I got my JEE-MAIN score card and then we got online platform to fill our favourable choices and then round wise we got our seats. As I was allocated seat in NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SIKKIM in ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT then I reported to the allocated institute and after the end of all the rounds we were called for admission to the college within a week.
Faculty :
In my opinion , I will prefer to say that the facilities are good and qualified enough. The faculties have very good communication skills and experience and almost all of them have done their Ph.D and many in IITs.
