Remarks :

Actually since our campus is running at temporary campus it's somewhat difficult to space and accommodation. But although our college provided all facilities including hostels laboratories classes and many more very much that is fully required for our knowledge development.

Entrance Preview :

I aimed to be a computer science engineer for that I am getting CSE branch at nit Sikkim and getting ECE and EEE branches at other nits as the Marks I scored at jee mains .so I choose nit Sikkim computer science and engineering branch to fulfill my aim and dream to become a computer science engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Each and every National Institute of technology campuses (NIT's) have different strategies to build the curriculum of respective branches to uplift the knowledge in students and to unleash their true potential through the best course curriculum. In that my institute course curriculum had been able to really unleash the true power in us.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes,my college provide internships to all third year and plus students.From our campus even many students are sent to Canada through MITACS global research internships for those who have CGPA more than 9.And also many students did internships from reputed companies and also IISC ,and IIT Bombay and many reputed institute.

Placement Experience :

Actually a student is placed in a reputed company based on the talent that the student posses and the ability that he has to tackle the situation he will be put in. Placement does not depend on any institute name or college name.Our institute is able to produce many best-talented students and got placed in many reputed companies such as Intel ,Macaffe,L&T,and many more with a package in 25 lakh and above.

College Events :

There are two major fests organised at our institute .one is a technical fest called Abhiyantran and the other is a cultural fest named Udgam.every year Abhiyantran is organised through third year students of our college and udgam by second-year students during Monsoon and winter semester s respectively.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is different at different nits and our college has a fee of three catogerie.one for students whose annual family income is less than one lakh have full fees waiver.and students with annual family income with above 1lakh and less than 5 lakh has 2/3 rd fee waiver.and students with above 5lakh annual income has to pay full academic fee.And hostel and mess fee is common to all students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Through our college many students are availed with NSP scholarship and also FFE scholarship and scholarship for ST/SC.and also merit scholarship also.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel provided through our campus are pretty good and movers 2-3 per room ,with water and gyser facilities and with an almara shared by 2 students each.the rooms are fully equipped with led lights and also water but few issues with water due to hilly area during winters only.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

Our campus is 100 percent free from raging by seniors. our seniors are very sportive and very interactive with us ie juniors and they are very helpful to drive a pathway for our academic and future.

Exam Structure :

Every Insitute follows its own exam pattern to check the true ability in students .The same way our institute also have two mid-semester exams and one end semester exam including lab exams for respective fields and branches.lab exams will be during end semester exam along with viva.

Admission :

The entry to all National institute of technologys.. is via joint entrance exam i.e JEE mains ..the marks is out of 360(three hundred and sixty), based on the marks that you get in JEE mains you will be allotted with respective nit .Each nit has different branches and each branch has different cut of rank .based on rank you get you will be allotted with different nit and respective branch.By that point I got NIT Sikkim computer science branch.

Faculty :

Each and every faculty is a professor or an assistant professor or a guest faculty.our college is provided with best faculty in particular courses and most of them are researchers also. Every particular subject is assigned with a particular subject specialised professor.

My admission and life at SMIT

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active and well equipped to bring recruiters from diverse group of organisations. The pre final and final year students are allowed to sit for interview. The highlight this year for me was Mercedes Benz hiring a student from Mechanical Department giving a very high package. A good chunk of people get placed every year. I am also looking forward to placement opportunities on campus, I believe there'll be enough opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because this course can help me learn both the coding and electronics part. Faculties are well qualified but sometimes they are not able to explain the things and sometimes they also avoid our doubt if we chok in the middle. We appear for three term exam in every 2 months. Some subjects are very difficult to pass because we are unable to understand them in class

Placement Experience:

After 5th semester, the college has on-campus internship options and after during 7th semester, you will be eligible to sit for campus placements. Many companies come for campus placement including IBM, NVIDIA, Deloitte, etc. PLacements for CSE, ECE, and EEE are very good. In 2023 highest placement was from EEE of 44 lakhs from NVIDIA. In Mechanical most of the students get PPO. For Civil, very least options are available. Usually, 80% of students get placed every year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

All the courses are very good here. All faculties have done phd in their respective domains. There are at least 4 lab technicians in one lab. There are all types of labs available. Teachers are very friendly. We get funds for our projects from our college.

My college overall experience!

Placement Experience:

Several companies come for campus placement. Third years are elligible for summer internships and fourth years can get placement + Internship offer for the last semester internship. The college provides us with pre-placement training which is very helpful which I'm currently undergoing. The placement record of the college has been satisfactory till now. We also get sessions from alumnus who tell us their experience and guide us through their experience. The placement drives can be improved hope for more companies and more opportunities to be given to every students.
