Course Curriculum Overview

4

Mbbs is a long duration course of about 5.5 years in which there is 1 year of compulsory internship.being a doctor is the noble profession and gives you huge respect and that's why i choose this course, this was me and my parents dream as well.this curriculum prepares you to face upcoming challenges that you have to face as a doctor.i think practical work should be more instead of just bookish knowledge.there is 3 terminals in a regular interval of 3 months and then final exams.

Internships Opportunities

5

In our overall 5.5 year course of MBBS the students are provided 1 year of compulsory internship where the students were paid about 30000 per month as a stipened, which was same for both mbbs and bds.Internship plays major role to the students because they they get opportunities to learn with the help of their seniors and their friends. For BDS students there is a compulsory internship of 1.5 years which was 6 months more than the MBBS students.

Fees and Financial Aid

My year wise tution fee is about 10k per annum including your tution fees, registration fee, caution money, lab fees and library fees etc. The year wise fees is about to constant and for sc or st students and girls of all categories have very low fees per year.it was less than 3k per annum.hostel fees for boys and girls was about 6k per year, from 2nd year onwards, boys will have their single rooms alloted but for girls single rooms are never alloted(about 3-4 girls per room).some students avail their scholarship from ekalyan.

Campus Life

4

Palash is the biggest annual fest that was conducted yearly in rims, where there were many artist come and give their performance and the people enjoyed a lot, palash typically held during the month of January.recently madhur sharma give their performance in palash. There were many books available in our library there were above 90000 books and journals available in our library . The classrooms were completely on projectors and animations were also used to excel our studies Sports events are also organised palestra was the biggest sports event organised in our college.thousand os students take part in this. There were many societies in our college which was mainly run by the college students some of the societies are the ecological society, movies society, quiz society etc .

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostels were provided by our college from 2nd year onwards the boys will get there single bedroom. There were mess facility available in the canteen where you can pay 3000 per month.the quality of food was great.Room provided was well furnished with a big wadrobe and a study table along with bed. After your admission, you will apply for your hostel.form was provided by the administration.

Admission

I applied for other colleges as well like ipgmer kolkata and Aiims but due to their high cutoff,i didn't get the one and among the state college i choose rims because its very close to my hometown and top medical college of our state,it have very low admission fees and you can complete your entire mbbs below 50 k. To get admission in our college, you have to crack neet and score above 675 as per neet 2024,in neet 2023 its cutoff was 635.

Faculty

4

About 45:1 is the sttudent to faculty ratio.some faculties are very good, even you can discuss your personal problems with them but not with all the faculties, some get angry as well and may be schold you but among all this, most of faculties are great, they push you to excel in your profession. Mbbs exams are the toughest among all the exams, you have to study a lot during exam time but we can enjoy as well during normal days.about 5-10 students fail among 180.

Night Life

5

The night life of our college is really great recently a gym and a Cafeteria is going to be opened inside our campus, library was opened till 10:00 p.m. some of the famous public areas inside our campus was the Rajendra Park, many parks are there inside our campus as well.our campus is evergreen. Hostels were closed after 10:00 p.m. at night Generally roaming around the campus after 10 p.m. was not be that much safe because it was an open campus but there were many places which you can generally hangout with your friends like in the indoor stadium where you can play badminton and also inside the stadium, there were many shops around the campus where you can buy anything s student required.

MBBS is all about learning and exploring . Only choose this profession when you have a will to help others otherwise it would be a difficult course for you. The passing marks of examination is 50 and for that you need to study hard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) program is a highly sought-after degree that prepares students for a career in medicine. A key aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is its emphasis on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. The inclusion of subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology provides a strong foundation for understanding the human body and its functions. Furthermore, the clinical rotations and internships allow students to interact directly with patients, giving invaluable hands-on experience. The curriculum is well-structured to equip students for real-world medical practice and further academic pursuits. Clinical postings in hospitals and exposure to different medical specialties enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills. The focus on research methodology also lays the groundwork for those interested in pursuing postgraduate studies or contributing to medical advancements. However, there are areas where the MBBS curriculum could improve. For instance, introducing more interactive teaching methods, such as case-based discussions and simulation labs, would better prepare students for complex clinical scenarios. Additionally, integrating modules on soft skills, such as communication and empathy, could enhance patient care. Exams are frequent, usually held at the end of each semester, with assessments ranging from theory papers to practical exams. While challenging, they are crucial for assessing a student’s knowledge and clinical aptitude. However, spreading out exams and providing more time for preparation could reduce stress and improve performance, ensuring a better learning experience overall. Cons are course length and also the difficulty level.
