Chandigarh university review

Dislikes

  • There is nothing to dislike but the attendance criteria is something most students don't like.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I opted for engineering in information technology. Here the course curriculum is according to need. We are taught the programming languages in both theory and practicals. We also have soft skills in our curriculum which help us enhance our communication skills.

Internships Opportunities :

The college help to provide internship to the student. Many companies come here such as accenture, infosys, ibm etc. It provides stipend with internships and students can take internship starting from their 3rd semester

Placement Experience :

Here the average package is 8lpa. Students start to get placements in their 5th semester. Microsoft, accenture, infosis, ibm etc are the companies which often visits for placement. University also guides the student for higher studies such as MBA and mtech etc. It provides guidance through dcpd, a department of career planning in our college

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The detailed fee structure for my course is 88500 per sem which is the tution fee for the course. There is one time security fee of 2000 and i have to pay 2500 every sem as examination fee. The scholarship is given according to the score in CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test). It allows upto 100% relief on tution fee. You have to give this test at the time of your admission

Campus Life :

There are many hackathons organized by both students and from outside. Many students take part in it and win prizes including cash prizes. The technologies here are nice. We use high tech Computer for programming. The sports and extra curricular are held quite often. Students run various clubs and students join them to socialize more with the other students

Admission :

I applied for this college because for my course i found it more affordable than other universities. The campus life here is very nice and the fests too. There is enjoyment and studies both. The average annual package here is 8lpa which is quite nice

Faculty :

Cu has a student faculty ratio of 14:1. For every class we are provided a mentor to whom we can ask everything and get help where we want in the course or other things. We have batch heads and associate directors to whom we can take our problems related to course, financial aids, exam etc. The marking scheme here is according to our performance in class and in exam too. The internal marking is 40 and external is 60

Night Life :

There are many cafeterias in our college. Students hang out in the university in the evening and sit in the cafeteria. The food here is nice and affordable. Hostel timings for girls is 8:30 pm and boys is 10 pm. The locality near the college is safe as mainly students live there.

Placement Experience:

MBA students have 2 internships, one being chemical core internship, which is done after 3 year for 2 months which is not shifted to last semester of 4th year for 6 months. Apart from this, there is a 2 month internship for MBA part. Earlier it was 2 months but now it is, also 6 months in the last semester. MBA students gets their internships done, both paid and unpaid included. But for placements, that story is not so good.

Placement Experience:

The placements are just average. Companies come everyday or everyweek. Placement drive keeps running all time. Packages above 10 LPA have very very high competition. Courses have everything to crack a good package off campus. But students aren't studious they don't know anything they just blame the university

Placement Experience:

Some students can get start getting internships offers from 5th semester and most of the students can get starts getting offers since the end og 6th semester. There almost more than 910+ companies that visit the campus with various offers which can be from new Startups to MNCs. Highest package offered was around 2 crore pa and the least being 5 lpa and average being 10-12 lpa. 70-80% students can get placed from the TPP(training and placement program) provided by the college by the end of 8th semester. I plan to get a job as a java developer at first proceed towards a carrier in cybersecurity.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement students can involve in 7th semester also many students got their PPOs in 6th semester as well. There are many reputed companies visited in PEC like Apple, Microsoft,Adobe,JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Amazon etc.Highest package this year was around 58LPA on-campus while average of all branch turns into around 14.33LPA.Overall more than 50 percent students got placed in all batch while around 80 percent placed in CSE due to recession. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree or during my 4th year.

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college are quite good for my branch ( CSE ) but the mechanical and civil placement rate is very low only a few students sit for placement and are placed. Approx 80% of students placed in CSE, 70% in ECE, and 40% and 20% in mechanical and civil respectively. My plan is to go for a master's whether in india or abroad along with a part-time job.
