Remarks :
The negative remarks on the college are that The college boundary is open to all and any local people can coms to the events without a pass and the local people are not supportive. Their attitude changes from time to time.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course Curriculum follows the conventional one and changing time to time as per the requirement of the students in the college. There used to be 2 semesters in one year and 8 Semesters in total. The clearance exam used to hold in the even and odd semesters depending on which semester you didn't clear.
Placement Experience :
The placement of the Assam Engineering College, Guwahati is pretty good going but jobs used to come mostly from private farms. The placement takes place on the Training and Placement Cell and many colleges and Universities use to take part in the placement drive.
College Events :
The events that are celebrated in the college are of heavy budget and on in-charge of the responsible teacher, whomsoever may be. The student union uses to help and co-ordinate with the teacher to make the event successful.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is quite feasible and maybe the lowest in all the Engineering College in the North Eastern region. The fees are taken while admission of every semester and exam of every semester which is also the lowest one.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are some scholarships available from the alumni and as well as the Government scheme such as Ishan Uday, Minority, AEC'88, NEC and many more for different tribes. All are happy those who got clear with the scholarship and others unhappy.
Campus Life :
There are laboratories in each Engineering department and every semester and all of them are important and the infrastructure is older ones that were there since the college was established. The sports culture is AEC is well established.
Hostel Facilities :
I have opted for Hostel because I am from Middle class and don't want to stay alone in Paying Guest that are available around the college. The fees of the hostel are very nominal and the infrastructure is the old one and all the hostel has co-ordination with the college authority and follows the anti-ragging policy of the college.
Alumni/Alumna :
As it is the oldest college in the North East, it has a certain good network of Alumnus but they are working in a different place and in different positions. Many of them are rule makers and use to sponsor the event in every way possible.
Faculty :
The faculty of Assam Engineering College, Guwahati are the most experienced and reputed engineers with many scholar skills and capable of taking Class with a better understanding. The faculty is even helpful for the project.
