BVCOE -through the eyes of a 3rd year student

Dislikes

  • The faculty is more in the stricter side, and doesn’t really support any other extra curricular
  • Some of the people can be annoying at times

Course Curriculum Overview :

My curriculum for ECE is up to the mark for sure , all the topics and the syllabus in fact is great for in depth evaluation of the stream . ECE has an interesting and rather great environment and I like to study and perform experiments related to the branch . If done correctly it prepares you for all the real world problems , might need a little more hands on experience

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are provided , in the summer break we're provided with summer training opportunities from companies such as synopsis , cadence , Siemens and ibm over various branches , however stipend isn't provided mostly , only for fourth year students

Placement Experience :

I plan to either study higher and go abroad or get an off campus placement from the course I'm currently pursuing, as for this college , the placements have been great in the past , but in today's time they've somewhat declined , around 70-80% students are getting placed , after my degree I'll most likely go for higher studies

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The year wise fees for the first year is around 170000, similar for the second year , the fees for third and fourth year is around 145000. Financial aid might be present for ews category. The fees is stagnant for now .

Campus Life :

Social life in the college has been above average, it's been a great experience , meeting with new people and making new friends , although some of the people are to be avoided , as in any other college , the college clubs and student chapters are great

Admission :

Along with this I applied for other top IPU colleges such as MAIT , MSIT , I applied for both of them, although it totally depended on my JEE score which was inadequate to get into these two , hence I got into this college , the admission process was smooth , you're admitted through JEE score

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio might be around 1:30, there is atleast 1 teacher for every 25-30 students easily .Faculty student relation is great , the teachers are understanding. ,HODs might be on the stricter side

Placement Experience:

Placement of college is very poor only 5-10 percent of students placed in our batch. From the 7th semester, students are eligible for college placements. There are e-rickshaw manufacturing companies visiting the college and a low level of packaging is offered. The highest package is about 5lakh per year and the average package is 2-3 lakh offered by companies. Only 10% of students placed. My plan is to get a good job after my degree.

Placement Experience:

Off campus is good as it only depends on students' performance. About on campus, the average is the package is around 5-6 lakhs per annum. The highest packages are 36lakhs per off-campus and 18 lakhs for on campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quite complete in the sense that all the basics are provided but can definitely be improved in providing specializations. The teachers are helpful and willing to share their knowledge and experiences and are extremely supportive outside the class if the need be. Industrial exposure is good however, one need to ask the management for the arrangement of industrial trips which may not occur otherwise. The placements at Jamia have been improving year by year. There are some highly reputed companies coming on campus and the packages are competitive.

Internships Opportunities:

I interned at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. which was unpaid. I was able to avail the internship through a competition which is organized by MSIL every year and of which Jamia is one of the best participants.

Remarks:

Partiality to other students when comes to JAAT community students. Because college has majority jaat faculty and chairman is also jaat. So people call it as a "JAATO KA COLLEGE".
