IIT'an's

Dislikes

  • It is in a remote area so you cannot find many things like in other iits which are at urban locality
  • If you are not from west bengal than outside campus you might find difficulty in conversation

Course Curriculum Overview :

My course is a mix of mathematics nad computer science so it opens a wide amount of opportunities in both the fields including it, research finance and data. Some of the coirse are old but yet very crucial for research point of view Exams usually happens after 2 months and are easy if you start serious study 2 weeks prior to your exam. Some improvements like adding more computer science part is required else the course is good

Internships Opportunities :

Companies like optiver gives 63 lakhs for two month but they are open only for cse. Other hfts are usually somehere from 3 to 5 lakhs a month. Software companies like google microsoft provide somewher from 1.5 to 2 lakhs per month and some small companies give you 50000 permonth .

Placement Experience :

After 4th semester companies coke for internship and in 7th sem you are allowed to sit in placements. This is the average package was a bit lower around 20lpa but for cse it was 42 lpa. Aroud 600 700 companies came and usually make 1400 1500 offers and about 80 percent of the students are placed oncampus and the others if they have skill get offers offf campus also

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees is quite high as compared to other govt colleges but the IIT tag is definitely worth the price and the roi is great. Once you enter the college you will find ample opportunities to explore. I belong to general category so there was no reservation for me but for sc st students the entire tuition fees is zero and for other ews students the tuition fee has waivers depending on yearly income

Campus Life :

The 2 major fests of the college are spring fest the annual fest and kshitij the tech fest. Fest is the time when you can enjoy your time to the most as you are able to interact with like minded people from all over india and there is a lot of crowd in the campus. The classrooms are welll equipped with the latest tech and you can find a club for everything you can imagine from cooking to acting. Also there are all kind of sports facilty available for every sports you know.

Hostel Facilities :

It is compulsory for all to live in a hostel all first years live in a same hostel separate for both girls and boys. Mess food isnot so great but manageable for some of the week days. There are a lot of canteens and restaurants in the campus where you can eat if you don't like the mess food and there food is great. The rooms are spacious and good but you get a common washroom else everything is good.

Admission :

At my rank i was getting all top iits but circuital in only kanpur and kharagpur. I was more inclined towards mathematics than electrical so i chose mathematics and computing branch. For iits you need to crack bogh jee mains and jeee advanced and on the behalf of your rank you are allotted a college of your preference. Usually for general the cutoff is around 12000 to enter in a top iit for circuital branch aim for under 1500

Faculty :

Faculty to stident ratio is good in some departmental course it is 1 to 70 otherwise fpr common course it is 1 to 150. Faculty is very talented in area of research but they lack teaching skills so you have to do all the work by yourself also exams and grading is chill wrt other iits. Course curriculum is relevant and we have 2 exams and a class test per semester

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite good especially after the new NEP rule that is made compulsory for every institute. The new style of credit division and introduction of new labs are quite interesting. The teaching style and course implementation is also appreciable.

Placement Experience:

The placement in Our college is quite good.Normally around 80% of the people get placed through CDC which is the on campus organisation that connects students with companies. The placement cell even provides some foreign internships and jobs due to immense amount of connections they have around the world. They even conduct workshops to help the students know about the industry and acquire soft skills which are needed to get placed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is really best as it provides in dept knowledge of courses along with industry experience which is very much required in this competitive world to get a good job and building careers. Even though it is so good it's load is very less with five hour classes daily for five days a week. Just a tab of Bachelor of Science is what we do not like..

Course Curriculum Overview:

We have a total 8-semester exams and also from this year we can opt for a double major in any other course so that's a great chance to follow our passion and also we have a chance of taking a dual degree in 3rd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am new to this curriculum but I am happy with my decision. Median package of this year is 21 lakhs in this course and faculty are too friendly. Exams are a little on the tougher side. We will have field trips for the research purpose overall it's a very underrated branch And we can try non core if we want to...since there is a lot of free time

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Top companies like Apple, Microsoft and Google do offer placements and PPOs to students. Students are eligible for placements in their final year. Highest offers go up to as high as Rs. 2 Cr or 4 Cr. About 750+ offers including PPOs were made during first few days of the start of the placement season this year in IIT Kharagpur. Overall placement percentage as been above 85%. Profiles of placements vary, including a good mix of both core companies and tech companies. I intend to pursue MS in Economics or MBA, depending on future interests.

Placement Experience:

Since iiser Bhopal is a research college so they don't focus mainly on placements although there is a placement cell in iiser most of the students after doing graduation choose to study further. But if any student wants to do a job after graduation they can appear in a college placement interview and they do jobs. But I want to study further.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as it is interdisciplinary. This means I have to study all subjects for 2 years. It is my interest in research and basic science. The faculty is amazing but the administration is slow. The faculty members are very good. Term exams twice. And it is difficult.
