- The cost of the college is too high for the regular student if you don't make good use of the facilities provided
- The campus is good but during monsoons it can be a hassle
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum gets updated every 2-4 years depending on the branch and every course is accredited. The curriculum is designed with inputs from researchers, industry personnel, and other key stakeholders hence the curriculum is very relevant. The curriculum could however focus more on showing where the topics are used in the real world at the start of the course rather than the end of the course The exams are well distributed throughout the semester giving students a chance to focus both on academics as well as their projects and personal life
Internships Opportunities :
The overall opportunities for internship is great with companies coming to college and offering internships in the third year of engineering. Most of the internships offered get converted to full time placement offers with a good pay
Placement Experience :
Students are eligible to sit for campus placements and internships from their 6th semester. Multiple companies visit including all the top companies. The highest package reaches upto 42 lakhs and the median package is about 8 lakhs. 60 percent of all the eligible students get placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fees for all the 4 years are declared at the start and isn't increased during the duration of the course. The complete cost of the course without hostel is about 18 lakhs. The hostel rates can vary from 1-2 lakhs per annum. There are multiple scholarships provided based on your entrance exam ( Manipal Entrance Test) rank as well as government and AICTE scholarships. The college offers stipends if the student works on research projects and publishes any research papers
Campus Life :
Campus life in Manipal is the best in India. The technical Fest TechTatva is held around October and is one of the biggest tech fests of India. The cultural fest Revels and Utsav both hold the top spots when it comes to how good they are. The books and reference material provided in the library is of really good value and the overall content is great. The labs are well equipped with the latest equipments as per industry standards due to tie ups with the industry. The culture for extra curricular activities in Manipal is huge with a lot of respect from both the students and the college
Hostel Facilities :
The overall hostel accommodation is of good quality and has tie ups with Zolo. The mess options available are good with a 4 times meal option. The quality of food is good for all meals. The hostels from second year onwards are alloted based on a GPA system and the good hostels are given to those with a good score Accommodation outside is also good but can be expensive for a small town.
Admission :
You are required to take science in your 12th and score a minimum of 60 percent. The application for the entrance test can be found on manipal.edu and the students can apply for the test The test consists of PCM and English as the categories for the test. There is NO RESERVATION provided in the college The difficulty of the exam is just below the JEE Mains level.
Faculty :
The faculty members are at the top of their field and are commendable technically. Most of the faculty have a PHD and have a huge amount of expertise when it comes to their respective fields. The faculties are very supportive for every project and they don't hesitate in promoting events that are there for the benefit of the students. The student to faculty ratio is very good as compared to other colleges. The faculties are very approachable and are very helpful
