  • The accounts department usually is too crowded and the people in the accounts and general enquiries and scholarship department act a bit tough though

Course Curriculum Overview :

Data science is a new and vast field which has seen an exponential growth over the past few years so I did choose the field. The curriculum is pretty decent going with the industry needs in my opinion. We need to have some internship opportunities from the college side a bit more. The exams are usually easy as the teachers will cover and provide notes earlier to the exams itself.

Internships Opportunities :

LG recently hosted an internship drive in the campus where most of the third year students took part and some of them were offered internships too, We'll be working on mini projects from 4th sem and and from 6th sem we'll start our main project.

Placement Experience :

From 6th semester, we'll be eligible to attend placements on campus. Mostly popular companies come for recruitment, they hold placement drives frequently. Some popular companies are cognizant, Capgemini, LSEG and many more

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I did dislike the tuition fee concept of the college because every other college has an average tuition fee of 15-20k but our college for a cet student has 35k and every semester, we are made to pay 3000 as sem-end exam fee is which is more when compared to VTU. There are government scholarships.

Campus Life :

Cultural fest is Sargam which is a very well known fest in the city, technical fests include quantum-X and many more. The library is open 24x7 so books can be accessed most of the time at the college. Smart boards are provided in most of the technical classes. Student clubs usually hold extracurricular activities at least once in a month.

Admission :

CET rank should be within 25k for data science, if you're from 2A or OBC. Usually a semester ends in 4 months every month we'll be having a month end exam too, which are pretty easy though but on mark. Better staff at the admission department would be the suggestion.

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio is actually hard to describe in my department as it is a new one there are not many lecturers, but I have heard there will be new lecturers joining soon. The ones who are teaching us now are average kind of lecturers they are strict as well as good ones though every lecturer has a different way of teaching. Teachers are available all the time in the department.

Interview Experience :

The universal health and human values subject was mainly concentrated on our personality development and GD was the format of the exam, in the first year we had an interview as our final exam in English.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good enough for IT fields and you will get a decent amount of package. But if you want core placements we may get a few companies with few jobs so you should be competitive enough to crack these. Last year our college got the highest package of 52LPA. An average package is around 7.5 LPA.
