Course Curriculum Overview :

Curriculum is well rounded. You have to read a lot from foreign authors, research papers, and books of various publications to catch up with the course work and curriculum intends to give in depth knowledge. Exams are generally conducted in consultation with students.

Internships Opportunities :

Most of the BTech students in SMMME school get chance to intern with companies like Applied materials, Jaguar land rover, tata steel. Generally the MTech students are not advised to go out for internship in semester breaks but are recommended to start working under their guide for final year project after the end of first year but they too have ample opportunities.

Placement Experience :

Placements in IIT Bhubaneswar are decent enough. In SMMME, companies like applied materials are frequent recruiters. Professors help to get placed in companies like tata steel and other such metallurgical companies through their excellent network and references.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Being a central government institution, fee for MTech course is nominal. You'll be paid stipend which will be roughly double of the total course fee. If you are gate qualified, you'll get the stipend, 12400/month

Campus Life :

The are coding clubs, robotics club, drama club, dance club, trading learning club, you name it. Cultural committee and Dr karanki and Dr Mangipudi ensure that best facilities are provided to students for their overall cultural development and extra co-curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are excellent and impressively cheap for MTech students. You'll get single rooms each and there is no sharing. Separate hostels for all years and all degree programs i.e. BTech, mtech, PhD.

Admission :

I got admission through a two stage process. I cleared GATE exam in XE stream and took solid mechanics and thermodynamics as my optional sections in that paper. I was shortlisted for written test and interview after which I was selected.

Faculty :

There are total 13 permanent faculties in SMMME school. All of them are highly qualified and most of them are foreign return. The younger ones are so helpful that they made me revise entire syllabus in their office cabin.

Interview Experience :

There was a written test followed by an interview during the selection process and it was mandatory to attend, despite being shortlisted through GATE score. Preparation isn't very tough, as long as you prepared well for your gate subject, you'll easily sail through.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course was easy for most of the cases or times, but felt some difficulties in some subjects like NANO, topics like surface plasmon resonance, etc. Timings are good and feasible, you'll get a lot of free time for whatever you want to do.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I believed there was a good future for the EE which inspired me to apply for this course. When Our faculty focuses on subject they would also teach us along with the real time benefits.Difficulty of the exam varies with corresponding subject and respective faculty with mid sem and end sem exams at 2months

Course Curriculum Overview:

I must say the curriculum is relevant to the course here for mtech cse. All the different subjects hold its own importance according to the course. But I didn't like the teaching methods of faculties here. Sometimes it feels like PPT presentation class. There are two exams in one semester. Mid Sem Exam and End Sem Exam and they both are pretty much normal not too difficult.

Remarks:

College management is quite helpful and student friendly. One is never harassed by college management. All the Deans are very polite and ever ready to solve students problem. The only lacuna is that being a college of 60 years old, the infrastructure is not that huge that one expected it to be. At last, I won't say that it is the best college to study engineering, but will definitely say that its a good place to study and one won't regret it.
