Course Curriculum Overview :

It is well structured,evolving with industry trends ,but could benefit from more practical-based learning and updated content.Exams should focus more on practicals rather than theory which will foster holistic development.

Class Size : 92Course Fees : INR 140000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Companies offer roles like SDE,Enginner Trainee,Analyst and other roles related to the branch. Companies like PwC,Bajaj,Reliance and many MNCs offer internship oppurtunites. Students also work with department professors on various projects.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligble for Intenrships from 5th Semster and campus placements at 7th Semster. The companies that visit our campus are Microsoft,BNY Mellon,Wells Fargo, PwC,Mahindra,Reliance and many more.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The Tution fee is 150000 and hostel fee is around 50000 anually. Numerous scholarships are available to eligible students which can be applied either from college or independently .However,there are no campus employment oppurtunities provided.

Campus Life :

NIT Durgapur has two fests-namely Aarohan,the annual Tech Fest and Recstasy,the annual Cultural Fest which are mostly held in March and April. As of Library ,it has quite decent books and journals for academic purpose. There are wide range of sports available for students and we have even won INTER-NIT Football tournament,this year. College boasts a variety of clubs ,each having different domains like Art,Coding,Literature.Interested students can audition to join these clubs and engage in activities that match their intrests.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels at NIT Durgapur are quite good for 1st and 2nd years but you will be assigned older Hostels in 3rd and 4th Years. As of Food , it tastes okay and predominantly North Inidan which often includes potato reflecting west bengal culture. Hostel registration takes place annually at the respective hostel's reception office.

Hostel Fee : INR 50000 per year

Admission :

Admission to NIT Durgapur is based solely on JEE Mains Exam,with counselling conducted through JOSAA. The cutoff for Mechanical Engineering is competitive which can be found from JOSAA website under previous year cutoff. There are reservation quotas for Home State students as well as for SC,ST,OBC,EWS categories.

Faculty :

While much of the curriculum emphasizes theoretical concepts,it effectively prepares for real-world applications. Professors, though sometimes traditional,contribute to a comprehensive educational experience.

Review on Guru Nanak Institute of Technology from one year of college experience

Placement Experience:

Recession is going on since last few years and being a private college obviously that has affected placements in our college also. The current situation of placement is not really good. Among students from all branches which each may have like 150 students, only 20 something got placed on campus. It is said that companies like TCS, Capegemini, Wipro, Amazon, Zscaler etc comes to campus for hiring but most just come and don't hire. This year highest package was 26.5 lakhs by only 2 students from our department, CSE.

Placement Experience:

The placement data of this college can be found on its site and if you work hard from your side the college will definitely bring in the companies and you will be placed depending on your skills. According to my knowledge the students becomes eligible for placement from 6 th semester this information may as be wrong so please refer to college once .
