Insights of my College

Dislikes

  • The college building is quite small in size. It could be larger and more occupied
  • The college has no hostel facility but soon it should have one.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum includes activity related to your course. E.g. visiting a zoological research institute to learn more about animal biology. The curriculum is very moderate so that you can involve yourself in cocurricular activities. The syllabus also focus on daily life application and gives vast knowledge about human physiology and modern biological topics like molecular biology. The curriculum should include more topics like biotechnology and nanotechnology to provide more scope to the students. It will enhance their skills in day to day life. More emhapsis on practical knowledge should be there. The difficulty level is moderate and the timing of exams is morning 3hours with a frequency of 2 times a year.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities include working under senior scientist, gaining lab experiences etc. Usually offered by large universities. The projects include research work like finding the reason of smell in the garbage etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure includes the annual day and all celebration charges plus the tuition charges plus the student allowances. The college comes under the government of odisha, hence all the scholarship are available here. My complete education fees was around 16000 including freshers and farewell party contributions. The scholarship includes like UG merit of one time 15,000 and Nua-O scholarship of 10,000. I was the class representative (CR) hence got many worthy chances of taking decisons like time of class and Project submission date. This allowed me to gain some leadership skills.

Campus Life :

Club involvement, I would say zero. Because our college fully focus on academic growth. Yeah, one can develop leadership skills by participating in college management programs. The name of annual and technical festival are typically held in February and December including prize ceremony, motivational messages, social work and cultural events. The library includes a huge range of books and journals to enhance your knowledge in every field. All the classroom have smart board equipped with air conditioners. Annual sports and various social events are organised every year.

Admission :

Any student with +2 science can apply here. He/she must have 55% in the exam. The application form can be found at the site samsodisha for +3 admission under state government of odisha. All the details of applications can be found at SAMS site. There are certain number of seats reserved for sports cadet, NCC, NSS and caste reservation for SC,ST and OBC (non creamy) as per national reservation policy. There's no suggestion for improvement at the admission process. It's already the best.

Faculty :

The facility are really knowledgeable, skilled and well trained for teaching. They are not only scholars but also good teachers. The ratio of faculty to student is 1:30. Again, they are friendly you can text them, call them anytime to arrange an extra class for doubt clearing. They also lend their own books to you for studying. The Facilities explains and guides us in step-by-step manner patiently. We interact atleast twice a day to our teachers (minimum) via direct visit or call.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course of integrated BSc BEd or BA BEd has demerits and I suggest you not to take admission in it as it's not accepted in central government curriculum due to some curricular glitches..Apart from that for general UG CBCS syllabus is the best

Placement Experience:

The are decent opportunity to explore while in the college. Campus placement are not frequent but the campus drives are shared among the students. The compensation varies according to roles and the requirements. The percentage of getting placed through college is less but if one's tries and have a proper communication with their faculty members and stay updated with latest news and campus drives acan help to grab a good opportunities. I have already graduated and have decent experience to work effectively in the organization.

Placement Experience:

Our college provides a good base of knowledge for the placement of students. Though on-campus placements are very rare in our college students get very good off-campus placements due to their knowledge acquired in the college and good recognition of the college in and out of the state. The students become eligible for placements in their pre-final semesters and they go to various companies for off-campus interviews. Companies like Deloitte, Infosys, TCS holds a good number of jobs for the graduates which our students easily crack and get placed. The highest package to date went up to 6.25Lakhs per annum and the average package remains about 2.25Lakhs per annum. Around 80-90% of the technical subject graduates get places but other subject placement is around 50% as most of them pursue their career in higher studies or research fields. I always wanted to join the defence forces and if not selected in it, I am sure to get a good package after my graduation in Computer Science.
