  • It is very much disconnected with any city

Course Curriculum Overview :

The geophysics course is very much dynamic apaert from geology and geophysics subjects, economics, probability and statistics, calculus are part of course. You can also opt for any subject you want. The department also has a feild trip of 4 credits every year for hands on experience

Internships Opportunities :

As mentioned you get to sit for internship after 4semesters. All top companies from world comes for internship offering amazing stipens and PPO options. You can get foreign projects from IR CELL. The companies offers stipend internship in all the profiles whether it be non tech or tech.

The campus placement is offered by CDC. And after 7th semesters you get to sit for placements. The highest packages goes around 2Cr. You opt for any profile SDE, data, consulting, product. I plan to get placed in product management after my degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is very simple you have to pay for hostel and tution togethor. The fees is not very high. You can get education loan without any collateral or co borrower from banks in campus. The hostel fees is very low, and food is also covered with it. The price is fixed as its a government college.

Campus Life :

Every socult society os present at IIT Kharagpur. We have been winning Inter IIT from past 5 years. I am part of comedy club and spring fest. The societies are well organised and completely student run.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel room depends upon the halls you are alloted. But generally they are quite dull and food is pretty bad. Opting for hostel is compulsory and is directly alloted by institue. No local PGs are available.

Admission :

The only way to get in college as a undergraduate is by clearing JEE Advanced, and via josaa counselling you will be alloted your seat in the college. Your department will depend on your rank and priority. You can jossa website dor cutoffs

Faculty :

The faculties are great professors but average teachers. You can approach them for research and other things but for academic purposes you have to rely on internet. Apart form this very few professors troubles you for attendance but are really strict in grading

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am new to this curriculum but I am happy with my decision. Median package of this year is 21 lakhs in this course and faculty are too friendly. Exams are a little on the tougher side. We will have field trips for the research purpose overall it's a very underrated branch And we can try non core if we want to...since there is a lot of free time

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but you have to put a lot of efforts during the time of recession. Thus is the worst phase of the college life where you become stressed, selfish, and nervous. This is the tough scenario to get high packages.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a 5 years course. Course are quiet tougher than other B.sc colleges but it will be very effective if you are going in research field. It will also introduce you to the basic of research and it will help you in future. A habit of reading research paper are vey common in this couse work and will help in your phd. But if you dont want to pursue in research then it will be less relevant to you.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Courses at IISER Kolkata are not like usual curriculum in state or central Universities in India. IISER Kolkata 's academic curriculum is quite similar to that of US and European Universities. The focus of the curriculum is to teach and train us to make us researchers. So the courses are quite relevant if someone wants a career in research. Exams are very frequent in iiser Kolkata, apart from the mid semester and end semester exams, there are regular quizzes/class tests/surprisetests/assignments/grades tutorial problems every week.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was already very interested in economics. My college has a healthy student to teacher ratio. For every 1teacher there is 4 students. Almost of our faculties have phD and master's done. The faculty is very interactive and makes sure the concepts are clear The exams are fairly standard and the exam timings are optimal.
