- I appreciate the fact that NITS has the largest digital library in Asia. The library has got a great space to do academic learning. It has also got an auditorium where very important webinars and sessions are held for students which are important.
- The seniors of NITS are very helpful. They are always ready to help their juniors both academically and extra curriculum. There is no option of ragging over there rather the seniors are so friendly to their juniors.
Dislikes
- The education could have been more digitalised bringing the digital board basically there is lack of smart education which should be a part of today’s education.
Course Curriculum Overview :
NITS is one of the top institute in India so I chose this institution. The placements of the institute is very much praising. Improvements can be made be using technology like smartboards, digital gadgets and so on. We should also try to go beyond the theoretical way of education. The exams are held for 1 hour in case of mid sems and 2 hour in case of end sems
Internships Opportunities :
NIT Silchar offers various internship opportunities to its students, including the Satyendra Nath Bose Summer Internship Program and the VRITIKA SERB Student internship program. These internships are aimed at both ug and pg students and typically involve research projects and mentorship from NIT Silchar faculty.
Placement Experience :
From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. In the placement session for 1022-2023, over 200 companies visited the campus and made more than 690 job offers achieving an overall placement percentage of 89.4%. Some of the prominent recruiters included Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Intuit and many others. The highest package offered was INR 80 LPA while the average package stood at INR 14.39LPA. The percentage of students getting placed in NIT Silchar in the year 2022-2023 was approximately 90.76%. My plans after getting the degree is to sit for the job and also give competitive exams like GATE, ESE
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee Structure : 89,000 per semester Complete Cost : 7,50,000 for 4 years undergrad (includes everything) There are many scholarships available for students under various schemes such as Realince, NSP etc.
Campus Life :
The biggest technical fest of NIT Silchar is Tecnoesis which is held in October and the biggest annual fest is Incandescence held in the month of February then we have two regional fest representing the culture of Assam that is Posua held during March or April and Oikyotaan representing the culture of bengali people of Silchar. The Central library houses around 97,000 printed and non-printed documents, includiybooks, journals, theses, dissertations and multimedia resources. The sports, clubs and other extra curricular activities nurture the growth of the students both physically and mentally making them strong and able to do things with more confidence.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel includes all the facilities needed by the children like water, food, table, cupboard, bed and so on. The meal provided by the hostel includes 4 times which are breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The food provided is good
Admission :
Eligibility of the course after qualifying JEE Mains. Application form can be found in the website of NTA, two sessions of exam are held the fee structures varies for different categories. The benefits are there for the reserved categories like for the fee structure and also for the marks/percentile. Improvements can be made regarthe admission process so that there is no server problems.
Faculty :
We have got lecture and tutorial classes so for each subjects there are 2 teachers making the faculty students ratio 1:90. The faculty have a very good approach towards the learning of students. They make a very disciplined environment. The faculty make us feel free to ask them questions any time during the classes and also after the classes by contacting them in their email and phone no.
