- First of all , the staff and seniors here are incredibly helpfull. Seniors help us to get accustomed to college life while staff members facilitate our lives here.
- The teaching methods of proffesors are high in quality and they dive in depth of every topic they cover.
Dislikes
- The exams are very tough and we have to work very hard to do well in exams.
- Getting a good CGPA is very difficult here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very up-to-date with the industry standards. being an IIT almost everything here is targeted to make you industry ready and ensure you get a placement. The curriculum focuses egually on real-world applications and further acadmeic pursuits. In terms of possible improvements, adding more computer development based courses will be very helpfull for students. There are 3 exams per semester, namely Minor 1, Minor 2 and Major examination with major being the most difficult. There are also various quizzes and class test throughout the semester.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities are very good in our college. Companies like google, bosch etc. have offered roles under internship with stipend of upto 3 lakh rupees. Many projects are taking place in college where anyone can contribute.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards. Some companies which visit include Amazon, Warner Bros, Google etc. The highest package is around 67 lacs and as for computer science branch the average package is 20.25 lakhs. About 80% student get placed. I plan on taking placement through the placement cell after getting the degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The complete cost of education for 4 year Btech course will be around 14 lakhs including tution fees, hostel fees and mess fees along with living expenses. Caste based relaxation in fees is available along with income based relaxation. On campus, one can work as a teaching asistant to earn some money every month.
Campus Life :
The biggest fest of IIT jodhpur is IGNUS which is the largest college fest in north western India. IGNUS is a socio cultural fest which usually takes place in February each year. The biggest tech fest is Prometeo which includes events like robowars, drone racing etc. It is typically help in january. 6-7 other fests also take place each year. The books in library are all very high quality and they can be published very easily. There is a very nice sports complex in the campus and everyone is free to play or exercise there. The club activities in IIT jodhpur are very vibrant and active with both technological clubs and extracurricular activities clubs.
Hostel Facilities :
Every hostel room is provided with An almirah, a bed , study table and chair. Every hostel room also has an air conditioning unit. Meal quality is very good and menu is balaced with nutritious and dilicious food. Hostel is very affordable and registration happens along with college registration.
Admission :
The admission was taken through JEE Advanced examination. To be eligible to the course, one must qualify JEE advanced and earn a good enough rank. The application forms for JEE Advanced are available in it's website and after examination a counselling process takes place to decide which courses you can opt for.
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio here is about 7 to 1 which is considered very good in India. Almost all faculty are PHDs in their respective subjects and even the Teaching assistants are doing PHD. Faculty like to teach each subject in depth. Teachers are very approachable. All teachers have their own institute issued email I'd and you can contact them anytime through mail. It is also possible to visit their office during office hours and talk with them.
