Overview of bits goa

Dislikes

  • The grading is too difficult. The relative grading here is a little bit wierd. The sole power of grading lies in the hands of IC(instructor in charge). If he doesn't feel like it he can reduce the average grade.
  • Its hard to compete with peers as they are on the same level as you thanks to the no reservation policy in bits.

The courses in bits are apt and precise. They follow what most of the indian colleges do. Although the courses are medium in difficulty the grading here in Goa is hard as compared to Hyderabad and pilani campuses.

The campus life is awesome in bits goa. You get everything you need. The infra and academic buildings is quite good. The hostels first year students get is extraordinary. Clubs and departments are student run and are highly active in bits goa.

Hostel Facilities :

Placement Experience:

Final students are eligible for placements. Companies such as turtle mint, findem, Nokia, IFB, Samsung, Adani power, HDFC Bank, Tesco, Upskill, ONGC, Jio, and many more. Last year almost everyone got placed. Average package is 10 LPA. This year though placements were not as expected because of economic depression. Even after the placements, lay offs have become common. Hence to cope up with the competition we need to keep upskilling.

Once we are into final year, we can sit for the interviews and mind you placements at PCCE are amazing as a considerable number of IT companies come here for hiring. Wipro, Polaris, Happiest Minds, Nazara Technologies to German company Bosch have been consistent with their hiring from PCCE.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement of my college is great. The complanies that recruit from my college are from tech, core and finance. My college is a Tier 1 college so the placements are also in the upper strata. The overall avg package of campus is around 15 lakhs and avg package of CS department reaches 30 lakhs. 90% of the batch gets placed and the rest of the students either go for higher studies or start their own startup.
