IIT MADRAS aerospace engineering review

  • 75% criteria is a thing that sometimes create problems.

Course Curriculum Overview :

One of the big reasons to choose iit Madras was flexible curriculum. You can pursue whatever you want despite of your branch. One has to complete certain courses in department and then he is free to choose whatever he want to study. But speaking from the reputation of course I will say it's the best atleast in India. One year has 2 semesters jan-may and july-dec. Exam frequency depends on the professor taking the course but generally it is 2 quizzes (each 20% weightage), assignments(20%), end-semester exam(40%).

Internships Opportunities :

I haven't yet started applied for internships but ther ware good amount of companies that come to campus to offer internships. 50-60% of the batch gets the internships. Intership stipend goes as high as 13 lakhs rs/month .

Placement Experience :

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement.you can look up at the official placement reports for exact numbers but mostly 80-90% of the batch gets placed. Highest package is 3.67crores and average is at 22lakhs per annum.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If your family income is below 100000 you don't have to pay any tution fee. If you family income is between 100000 and 4.5 lakhs you have to pay 33000 fee. If family income greater than 4.5lakh then you have to pay 1 lakh tution fee. The fee above mentioned is per semester. There are various scholarships available but again you don't need them if you have low family income as your tution fee is anyway waived. There are few campus works you can take after 2nd year such as research fellow, Teaching assistant work, etc. You will be paid around 12000 per month for TAship and research fellowships l.

Campus Life :

Annual cultural fest, saarang and annual technical fest shaastra are held in the month of January. Most of the things you need for coursework is available in the central library in the campus library opens at 8 in morning and closes at 12 in the night. Facilities for each and every sports are present on campus free of cost l. You have to take membership for things like gum or swimming pool though. There are many student run groups such as Entrepreneurship -Cell,Raftaar, Abhyuday, etc you can look up for each of them in their respective websites

Hostel Facilities :

It depends on hostel but basic amenities like washing machine, clean toilets are available. In some hostels there are things like indoor badminton court, study room, gym, basketbapl court etc. You will be automatically registered for hostel at the time of admission unless you opt out from it.

Admission :

Eligibility: 75% in class 12th You have to apply through joosa counselling after writing JEE ADVANCED.The cutoff for aerospace engineering is around 3.7k rank for general male.Application fees and dates align with the JEE ADVANCED and JOOSA counselling process. Student are expected to put around 55 hours of studies out of which around 20 in classroom and other in self study tutorial etc. course is quite difficult and 75% attendence is mandatory.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because i had more interest in computer field and i wanted to learn and gain more knowlege in the field of computer science. Here in this college there are very minimun students and staff compared to othe colleges. In this college the faculty members are well qualified. The exam were conducted in very strict manner and it was not an easy job to get pass in the examinations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If u study for ur internal exams or mid some people call as if u get well prepared in that then it is easy to clear sem exams because if college is not an autonomous paper is not easy as expected so u have to study and understand the whole concept u will be having our staff support more.
