Course Curriculum Overview :
The academics of our college is elite, comparable to many NITs and even some new IITs. Teachers are always ready to help, and are very strict and make sure that the students are disciplined. My course is not that hard, it just requires Problem Solving Skills as we do coding.
Internships Opportunities :
There are various companies offering internship to students here, specially PSUs and Government Sectors such as ONGC, OIL, IOCL. I dont know much about the Projects since I am a first year student, but I am very sure it is good too :)
Placement Experience :
Placements are decent here as mentioned earlier. Students can expect a decent salary and ease-to-live life, given that they are not shifted to some expensive places, like bangalore. The highest package offered is around 20 LPA On-Campus and 50 LPA Off-Campus. The median Package is good and lies between 5-6 LPA
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college takes a yearly fees of 10,000 and an extra 15,000 if you opt for hostel. The college is very much affordable to almost all economic classes of people, which makes it a lucrative choice, given its academic prowess. There are various scholarship opportunities provided to the students and the college even has a separate team to handle these things. The college also provide decent placements, which makes the ROI far better than private institutions.
Campus Life :
The social life here is very good. People of Assam are very friendly and helpful. And our college hosts various events, among which the biggest is our cultural fest Phoenix, which happens every March of a Year. The level of every extra curricular activities is decent, and students can join various clubs to enhance their skills
Admission :
I got into my college JEC through an entrance exam called CEE (Combined Entrance Examination) which is managed and regulated by ASTU, a technological University based on Assam. It is a Government Engineering College. To be eligible to get into this course, one first needs to be a Resident of Assam or any other North-eastern State of India, because PRC is required during the admission process. The website of ASTU notifies the examination dates and the same is also published in some local dailies. Everything can be found on the website itself. There are reservation benefits for admission. The exam is held once a year and is a mediocre level exam. The difficulty is not as much as JEE Mains comparatively. To get into BE in Computer Science (actually it's B.Tech, please update your website), one must have a Rank Between 1-400 to get admission into this specific course. For a better Idea, the total number of Students who give this exam lies between 25000-30000. My rank was 360 so I got in :)
