- Mess food is better than other colleges on the whole (other 2nd and 3rd generation IITs)
- The sports facilities are really good, especially indoor courts
Dislikes
- The teaching assistance and official events (unacademic events) conducted will be in hindi only.
- The location of the campus is just wilderness. You cant reach the city within an hour or so.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose EE on my second year, by changing my branch from Materials science engineering. The EE and Mech course are the two course for which the no of credits to complete is higher than other courses. It is a course which requires continous hardwork, if you miss a lecture then better be prepared to allocate the time required to understand the missed topics or else it will go down bad!
Internships Opportunities :
The college has a very reputed internship opportunity among other 2nd generation IITs, called SRIP. This provides us the opportunity to do research under professors whom you like. There are also project courses available which are 4 credit courses in which you need to do a project (can be a research project) under a professor and will be graded on your consistency and final outcome.
Placement Experience :
Placement offers are tolerable, but not very good when compared to older IITs. The college culture is to get a good offer for higher studies at abroad and then go for a good placement. But still almost all of the MNCs come for job placement. (Google, accentuate, etc. I am not sure)
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fee is one lakh per semester and 46,000 for expenses (hostel, mess, laundry). This is for general and obc category. But yeah scholarship facilities are very much available if you're financial status is low (EWS). I myself am a Reliance Scholar. And I get 50k per year. The college also provides employment roles such as teaching assistance, peer assisting learning, etc.
Campus Life :
I like the campus infrastructure very much. The bathrooms and rooms are very clean and modern. Every room has an attached air conditioner, which works only in the summer months. The lighting is splendid in our college. I am not an extra-curricular person on my own so clubs are not my cup of tea.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility is good. The bathrooms are clean and hygiene. We can avail cleaning facility whenever we want and they regularly come for twice a week. The mess quality is nice but if you are from the south you won't like the south Indian dishes and you won't get it often.
Admission :
The admission process in IIT is very simple and efficient when compared to other colleges once, you have got your college alloted through JoSAA. But yeah till that time it is hard, there is JEE for you to clear. The JEE is indeed tough to crack, but it depends on your concept clarity. If your concepts are good then Voila!
