College Review of Faculty of Technology & Engineering, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

Dislikes

  • Hostel: because hostel capacity is of 3 to 4 students that is the main drawback.
  • Placements: being gujarat one of the oldest still placements lack behind but comparing to other government college or private colleges placement are good

Course Curriculum Overview :

Metallurgy in the aspect of the career is good or maybe excellent, the curriculum is old but techniques that we are taught are still used un modern-day usage. so, don't worry about that. exam timings are good because for the first year they conduct exams only two times in a year but after that mid-sem also happens in the second year.

Internships Opportunities :

As of I am concerned I have not provided any because I am currently in my second year, so, i can't give you an answer about that. generally who are in their third year, are been provided with internships. and their projects and other tasks, my take on that is atmosphere regarding internship and placement is good.

Placement Experience :

Placements: during begining of fourth year placement starts from august as companies visit after august or september. Companies: Reliance, Adani, JSW, Atul Ltd., welspun, etc.. are visiting campus Placement %: nearly 50% or in my department higher side as highest is around 8 LPA and average is around 3 LPA. Plans: to pursue higher studies in IIT or Join PSU.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Due to a government college, affordability is very high everyone can afford and scholarships are also, for different types like digital Gujarat and also some other state people are also there, they can also take benefits. Scholarships: PM Yasasvi, myssy, and also one for Jammu Kashmir people which Gujarat and aicte are providing.

Campus Life :

EVENTS: Paramarsh: during starting of october or end of september cultural events, Junoon: End of january it is also techno cultural fest & Footprints: is major event which happens in March. LIBRARY: good no. of books are available you can see that data in nirf or thorugh RTI as don't have enough knowledge about that

Hostel Facilities :

HOSTEL: typically in MSU, there are 13 hostels, and from that there are three hostel in polytechnic campus, in that i have given SJ hall, in this hall Cleaning: thrice in a week Water: 24x7 Capacity: 4 students in a room facilities: every student get half cupboard, one bed, one chair, one table.

Admission :

The eligibility: class 12 with 45% & GUJCET or JEE, or other option through diploma. Application: on the acpc website The difficulty level of the exam: is moderate or the same compared to other universities or the tougher side of GTU.

Faculty :

Yes, faculty ratio is good in metallurgy department as i think faculty to student ratio is around 1:12, faculty credentials are good some are PhD, some are having master degree but some are temporary assistant professors. during break and after classes they are approachable.

Placement Experience:

As of last year, most of the students who applied for campus placement got placed but with an average ctc of rs 5 lakh/annum. The companies visited include Adani Port, Adani gas, Torrent Power, and other companies. The highest package was rs 15 lakh. Generally, most students from here prepare for entrances like a gate, toefl, cat, etc for admission in masters.

Not know much about placement but from what I have heard it is average. You have to decide beforehand whether you want to go for placement or a master's after that college provides a special course that is delivered by CD Cell CD stands for career development.
