College management is good. They are cooperating with the students. academic structure needs to be changed little bit with more focus on practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge
Entrance Preview :
JUET ENTRANCE TEST IS CONDUCTED FOR THE ADMISSION . ADMISSION IS ON THE BASIS OF COMBINED MERIT OF GRADUATION AND JUET ENTRANCE WITH PROPER RATIO.. MY GRADUATION PERCENT WAS 75 PERCENT. SINCE IT'S NAAC ACCREDITED A+ UNIVERSITY SO I OPTED FOR THIS
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is not focused on latest languages. Still working on c, c++, java.. elective courses are vb.net and c sharp. From this year onwards new language Python will be introduced in our course which will help the students to get advanced concepts of programming skills
Internships Opportunities :
In terms of placement this university is lacking behind.. placement drive has reduced at a rapid rate for the last 5 years. Since i took admission 2 batches have been passed out and no company visited for the placement. Students are sent for off campus placement to distant locations
Placement Experience :
Placement is zero. No company comes here for placement. Students have to go on their own for off-campus placements. Last year 2 students have been placed in Chandigarh with the package of 20k per month. In terms of placements, it needs more work and efforts for having the placement at good standards
College Events :
There is a major event of fresher cum farewell party which is organised in the month of December. Its a big event celebrated by the students.. except this event no other events are celebrated. No fests and no cultural activities are celebrated organised in this dept.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure varies for even and odd semesters. For first, the third and fifth-semester fee structure is approx 14 thousand per semester. For a second, fourth and sixth semester, the fee structure is approx 6 thousand per semester. The fee is not expensive. It is easily feasible.. however for payment seats, it's too expensive
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No scholarship or loan facilities provided by the department. The department of computer science and IT DOESN'T PROVIDE ANY SCHOLARSHIP OF ITS OWN.
Campus Life :
Campus is surrounded by beautiful environment with trees and plants all around giving a peaceful and soothing environment. Females are more in number as compared to males.lab facility is good. 3 Big labs are there for students. Library facility is also good having huge collection of books.inter departmental activities are organised every year
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facilities are good. Mess food is not available through out the week. It is available only on working days.. during Saturday, sundays or other holidays mess remians off creating problems for students. Students need to go outside for their food during non availability of mess
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes alumini are very helpful. They guide us whenever we need help . They share their experience and tell us how they have reached to higher positions and motivate us for reaching positions higher to them.
Exam Structure :
Exam structure and labs make a hectic day. We are having frequent exams and with very less time for preparation it becomes difficult for students to complete whole syllabus. There is only 1 holiday during major exams and no holiday for minor exams. 5 vivas are CONDUCTED FOR each semester
Admission :
For the admission you have to give an entrance test called JAMMU UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST (JUET) AND YOUR JUET MARKS WILL BE COMBINED WITH THE MARKS OF YOUR GRADUATION. WEIGHTAGE IS GIVEN IN RATIO TO BOTH THE MARKS OBTAINED IN BOTH GRADUATION AS WELL AS JUET ENTRANCE
Faculty :
Faculty is highly qualified with senior teachers having experience of almost 20 years. Few contractual teachers are also there. So overall its a mixture of old ones and the young ones. Both trying to give more and more knowledge to the students . Teachers are very much interested in delivering the right content to the students
