Everything I have see

Dislikes

  • The main thing I dislike is the insecure classrooms. Most of the classroom roofs are damaged.
  • The toilets are too tiny and unclean. There is no facility for Muslim students to take ablution.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Since I joined during the COVID pandemic season, a Computer Science degree had more opportunities compared to other fields. So I chose this course. I think the number of teachers in each department is very few. But it's still manageable. Some of the teachers who have less experience does not have the necessary teaching skill. We find it difficult to learn in such classes. Proper training is not provided to such teachers. Exams are conducted timely without much delay. But the amount of time we get to prepare is sometimes too little.

Internships Opportunities :

Currently, the placement opportunities are too few not just in our college but all over the country due to external affairs. Internship opportunities were available from companies like ICT. Students should be given facilities to attend internships outside campus.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I think the fee hike that happened recently is too high. Initially, the merit seat fee was said to be around 35K, but over the years the fee has risen to above 41K combining establishment fees and other college fees. I received 11K as a scholarship fee from the Egrantz scholarship scheme in the first year. I haven't received it after that. I have no job on campus and am not receiving any financial assistance.

Campus Life :

Our college is very nature-friendly as it is located on the top of a hill. Life on campus is not bad. But hostel Life and food are some of the few issues I find difficult here. Also, the hike from the hostel to the college is too tiring. I was able to attend the technical fest conducted on Dec 22 and it was a wonderful experience. The library is very resourceful. But for our seminar presentation, we weren't able to access journals that should actually be provided by the college. I have participated in various cultural events like dance. I volunteered as a program coordinator at NSS. NSS has a website which run by students to update the activities conducted by them.

Admission :

I repeated the entrance exam and cracked keam exam and I got around 20k rank. Then I applied to this college. In 3rd allotment, I got merit seat admission in CEV. I think virtual admission would be more apt since many people find it difficult to come to the college for the admission process.

More than being an educational institution college has helped me grow. Being a timid teenager who has walked into the college afraid of the world, the environment has me set asking for what I want of life. I will be forever be thankful for the choice I made.

Remarks:

This is a very nice college. Its been a pleasure for me to spend my college life here. Here both academics and fun are balanced. We can enjoy our college life without spoiling our future. The only downside of this college is inadequate canteen facility. This is not a big bother since there are many great restourants near the college.

The college makes a good name in between the private colleges in town. But the location is not easily accessible. Transportation is quit uncomfortable. The college is a bit back when coming to fund raising.
