Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because I want a government job in this sector (in PSUs), through GATE. Faculty to student ratio is close to 16:1. Professors are highly qualified here, they have in-depth knowledge of their particular feild, but their teaching techniques are not good, and most of them don't know how to interact with students. Exams are conducted on time, and they are easy to score.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships start in the 5th semester as companies visit for software development, analysis, data science, and web development. roles, To get an internship, first of all, you have to become good at your technical and interpersonal skills, and after that, in some companies along with these skills, you have to do some projects in your particular feild.
Placement Experience :
If you are a deserving candidate you will surely get placed despite of your branch, overall placements are good here, many companies visited our campus including tech giants such as Microsoft, Adobe, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs. and many more. More than 100+ companies visit every year and make 700+ job offers. The highest package is 70 lakhs from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the average package for college is ?13.62 lakhs. Considering job profiles Microsoft, JPMC, Goldman Sachs,. And many more companies hires for software development and data analysis role. More than 70% of students placed in each department.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For a general category candidate, the tuition fee is 62, 300 apart from the hostel and mess fee combined is 39, 000 for one semester. Talking about scholarships, they are based on the income level of your family and your category. If family income is greater than 5 lakhs(per year) then you have to pay the full fee, if it is between 1 lakh-5 lakhs, then you have to pay only 1/3rd of the fee, and, if it is less than 1 lakh then no tuition fee will be demanded. Also, if you are SC or ST then also your complete tuition fee will be waived. I'm a second-year undergraduate student so, currently, I don't have any job in my feild.
Campus Life :
There are a number of cultural fest, two of them are AROHAN and RECSTECY, and they are conducted between February and March. You can get various books on various topics in which you are interested in the library, it is near and clean and very well maintained. The classroom has a good infrastructure and consists of all equipment and technology which is helpful in teaching. The environment of sports and extracurricular activities is very good, there are a number of sports events conducted every year in college and outside of college.
Hostel Facilities :
There are 14 hostels in this Institute, and maximum of them are in poor condition. , no cleanliness, no maintenance, water coolers too are not maintained. Only some hostels like HALL 14, HALL 11, and HALL 10 are in good conditions. Mess food is average and okayish, For hostel registration, you have to reach your particular hostel and fill your registration form along with your passport-sized photos, signature, anti ragging affidavit and other formalities. It is mandatory to take a hostel.
Admission :
I was admitted to NIT Durgapur in the Department of Civil Engineering on 14th November 2022 through JEE Mains, I received an email from the Institute after the publication of the CSAB 2022 list, You will find your application form and other details on that email, for admission in this Institute you have to score a good percentile(at least 95 ) for a general category candidate.
