- Placement - Average for Cse is around 50 LPA and median is around 35LPA, what else do I want.
Dislikes
- Faculty - They don't really care much about students.
- Less Girl to boys ratio- For obvious reasons, this has to be corrected.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Interest in computer programming and maybe money??? Really don't have much idea but as IITB is a public institute... Data must be available online. Faculty, obviously are more than qualified to teach us UGs and teaching method is basically changing slides and explaining then. Many profs try to make the class more interactive but students mostly don't co-operate. Passing is easy.... You can pass with just 2 hours of study... My course started in August 7, mid September, there were mid sems, mid November there are end sems.
Internships Opportunities :
Optiver is a famous company that give stipend of 8 lakhs for internship. People can do internship from 2nd year. Amazon, flipkart etc also provide intership opportunities for iitb students. People usually get their intership in 3rd year.
Placement Experience :
3rd year This data is available online in a very detailed manner. A large bunch of student get placements from IITB but many don't cause they usually opt out of placement to start their own business. My plan is currently to get a job and then will try to do MBA from any IIMs(if possible)
Fees and Financial Aid :
Fee structure involves 1 lakh tuition fees per semester, then there's hostel expense, Gymkhana (sports activities) expense, hospital expense etc. There are various scholarships provided by IITB. If your family income is less than 5LPA, you can opt for scholarship and your 2/3rd tuition fees will be exempted. If family income is less than 1LPA, tution will be free.
Campus Life :
Annual fest is the MOOD INDIGO And the tech fest is basically called techfest. Both are conducted in December. There are books of every subject, every topic available in Library. There is never a shortage of books here. Classrooms are fully air conditioned, with wifi as well as comfy chairs and enough room. Everyone has seen chhichhore which describes the sports environment best of IITB There are various clubs for example there is literati, which is a club for book geeks and board games.
Hostel Facilities :
Room has a bed, a cupboard and a table that has a drawer. They provide you a lock. Menu is pretty inclusive of all states of India. Breakfast has both the options, veg or non veg. Registration for hostel goes hand in hand with registration for college, you don't have to do much.
Admission :
There are various way to get into IIT Bombay. Most popular being through JEE advanced. To be eligible to apply, you must have given 12th boards and have scored a min 75% or must come under top 20 percentile. Clearing JEE mains and qualifying advanced is also a necessary criterion. Application forms are available on JEE adv/ NTA site... For college related forms, you have to go through Josaa site. To avail reservation, you must come under OBC/SC/ST/EWS. This is what government decides and you just have to contact your local government officer for further details. Making a preference list in councelling can be a bit hectic as there are more than 700 courses offered in Josaa councelling... This can be improved.
