Dislikes
- The hostels are little bit old and rooms which are double or triple sharing are not good.
- Campus politics is very dirty and it is included in various campus clubs.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very relevant to the real world. We get to learn about Economics, which includes how our entire monetary system works, what is economic development, and how economic policies are thought upon. There were 33 students in my class and 13 faculties in our department. Most of the faculties are young and energetic, though some lack bit of experience, but overall the faculty members are good and very helpful. The exams are conducted twice every semester (6 months), and they are very intellectual and of medium difficulty.
Internships Opportunities :
There are various internship opportunities, offering got stipends. The internships are in the role of software developer, data analytics, machine learning, Quant researcher, etc. Some good companies include JP Morgan, Microsoft, Google, and Goldman Sachs.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for campus placements in the seventh semester of their 4-year course. A wide variety of companies come to offer jobs and the average package is very good (around 20 lakhs). Almost all the students who sit in placements get placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fee for each semester is 1 Lakh, and there are lots of scholarship opportunities available. There is a fee waiver for students who need financial assistance (family income less than 5 lakhs) and for SC/ST students.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus is very chill, and students get a lot to learn from their seniors, professors, and batch mates. There is an annual fest named 'Thomson' which is held in the month of October. There are various technical and cultural clubs for students.
Hostel Facilities :
The rooms are of decent size as thought of for an individual. There is an Almirah, a table, a bed, a bedside table, and a chair in each room with tube lights and fans. There are three meals in a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Admission :
The admission to Indian Institute of Technology is done through JEE Advanced. To sit for JEE Advance, one has to clear JEE mains (generally the cutoff for the general category is 90 percentile). JEE mains are conducted twice a year. After clearing JEE mains, which is conducted by NTA, one has to appear in JEE Advanced, which is conducted by one of the IITs, and then through the counseling (Jossa) process the admission process is done.
