Remarks :
I will talk about biomedical department only. The college management is good as compared to other govt colleges. The faculties are good and supporting. But still since being govt colleges some management issues are there. But overall it's a good place to study
Entrance Preview :
You need to pass 12th exam along with GUJCET. Combining both these scores, we get rank to get admission in gujarat. I got a rank around 15000 rank and easily got admission in biomedical branch. I wanted to do biomedical engg and I didn't get admission in LD engg colleg. So this was my second option and I easily got admission here. The admission is purely based on merit rank. There's no interview!
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since the college belongs to Gujarat Technological University, the course curriculum is given in gtu syllabus section on gtu's official website. The course is good. It covers knowledge from biology, instrumentation, electronics, which helps in understanding how medical instruments work. There is huge scope of research in this field but as such in college it's bit limited. Though you have to make an innovative project in last year.
Internships Opportunities :
No they don't. They provide NOC so that during vacations you can do your internship in some hospital of some industries. And there is no stipend provided. Usually Apollo hospital is the popular choice for internship.
Placement Experience :
Till 2015 the placements from college were less due to the developing nature of this field and also hospitals don't come for campus interview. But since last year they have developed a good T&P cell due to which lots of students are placed. The packages range around 2- 3 lacs
College Events :
The college has its own cultural program every year in which every one can participate. Also students can participate in GTU tech fest and cultural fest. Moreover biomedical department organizes it's own events like plantation day, teachers day. It also organizes biomedical conferences and technical workshops. Everyone can participate in all these
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Being government college, the fees are almost negligible. For girls it's around 1500 per year and for guys around 3000. Also you need to pay exam fees which depend on number of subjects. It's around 700 rupees. All the fees are to be payed online through SBI.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Since the fees are negligible, no loans are provided. But some reservation and financial ly weak students might get scholarships
Campus Life :
Campus life is okay. There's nothing much to do. You can organize stuff and then can do what you want. Days are organized and all the festivals are enjoyed. The gender ratio in biomedical is almost same. And most people belong from gujarat itself.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is quiet nice. They have different girls and boys hostel with nice clean and good infrastructure and normal facilities. There are pg available in the nearby areas which are also and affordable options. There's no mess in hostel. But college canteen is there just beside hostel and also may people provide tiffin services
Alumni/Alumna :
There not much alumni network of the college. But you can become a part of GTU alumni if you wish. You need to pay some minor fees and then submit it to gtu and you will become a part of the alumni.
Exam Structure :
There is a midsem exam of 30 marks. Which can be taken as per faculty's wish.Sometimes the exam is divided into 3 exams of 10 marks or 2 exams of 15 marks. Then there final GTU exam of 70 marks. And 50 marks for vivas which includes assignments or practicals.
Admission :
As I already stated above you will get merit rank by acpc in gujarat. So first of all you need to register yourself in acpc after your 12 and gujcet results. Then as per acpc guidelines there will be choice filling rounds on basis of which you know where you are getting admissions. There is a mock round just for practice and the couple of rounds in which you can confirm your admissions based on your rank and choice. Once you confirm the admission you need to pay fees online and then visit the college and fulfil other formalities. There is also a reshuffling round if in case after joining college some one wants to change and go somewhere else.
Faculty :
There are few main faculties which are really knowledge. But as it is government college there shortage of faculties but the main faculties adjust. The ME students also take some lectures but they are okay okay knowledge wise and they keep on changing.
