Course Curriculum Overview :

I choosed IT course because it is highly demanded. If we talk about the faculty members then I will give 7 points out of 10. All faculties are Good in teaching and qualified but some of them are not teaching their course properly and they are fully dependent on the students. They don't take lectures regularly. Instead of teaching they are interested to cover up the syllabus by students using PPTs. All the classmates in my batch are good in education as well as in other fields so that we can get proper environment for growth with our friends but in other hand they are very interested for the mass bunks during summer and navratri. As a result faculty can not cover up the syllabus on time. In each semester the mid sem exams are organised before the submission and University exams. Generally 50% syllabus is considered in each subject for mid sem exams. Recommendation: Students should give their 100% for mid sem exam because other evaluation of marks are done based on mid sem result.

Internships Opportunities :

Currently I am in 5th semester so from now the internship opportunities will be available for me. According to refference of my senior the internship opportunities are good in college. Generally the internship is of 90 days in GTU and 12000/- is given as a stipend. Students can get practical knowledge through the internships which are necessary in industries.

Placement Experience :

As I told earlier that placements are avarage in GEC gandhinagar college. Average package offered by company is 3.5 lakh per year to student. Only 1 or 2 students are placed for the 6 to 6.5 lakh package. 50% of the students are placed from Computer/IT department and rest of are placed from others. TCS,Tatva soft, L & T etc. companies visit the college for placement every year. In Computer/IT department 28 out of 90 students on an average are placed. (For the detailed notes of companies visited in college, you can search on internet or refer GEC gandhinagar college's official website.) If candidate who wants high package then he/she can go for offcampus placement in MNC's. For this he/she has to be skilled candidate with extraordinary skills.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are nominal in GEC gandhinagar because it is a government college. The fees structure is common for all the courses. The course fees is 1500/- per year which students have to pay before the starting of each year before deadline otherwise they have to pay extra charges as a penalty. Affiliation fees of 300/- is taken in each odd sem like in 1 sem, 3 sem, 5 sem, 7 sem. Next students have to pay University exams fees before the deadline in each semester. This fees are varied course by course and semester by semester. Hostel fees are also nominal and it is 4000/- per year ( mess excluded). There are so many scholarships available for students. eg: MYSY. You can get more idea about the MYSY scholarship and other scholarship through the internet. Campus placement is average in GEC gandhinagar college. The average package is 3.5 lakh per annum. Only 1 or 2 students can get package of 6 to 6.5 lakh.

Campus Life :

Infrastructure of GEC gandhinagar college is best. All departments are separate in campus. Greenery is also good as special in monsoon. Classrooms are enough big and banches are also good. There is a project room in each department of college. Library is also good and there are enough books & journals available. Capacity of library is 100 to 150 students. There are also many annual fests, tech fest & clubs are conducted in college. Club IDE and E-Cell are one of them. Student can get opportunity to growth by joining these types of clubs. Everyone should take part in tech fests to enhance the technical skills. Tech fests are paid but there is a nominal fees of it. Certificate given by tech fests organizer is helpful in 100 points activity. Sports activities are also conducted every year to boost the skills of students in sports field. There is an enough big ground in college to play cricket and other sports.

Admission :

The admission process in any colleges under GTU University is done through the ACPC rank of the student. On other hand the admission process is also done through the JEE main entrance exam but only 5% seats are allocated for this way and rest of 95% seats are allocated base on ACPC rank in particular course. ACPC rank of any student is evaluated based on GUJCET and 12th Board exam result. The weight of GUJCET and 12th Board exam is 50:50 for the evaluation of ACPC rank. (Note: Only 3 subjects (PCM) are considered in 12th Board exam) This whole admission process was done with 4 rounds at that time. The first round is known as mock round and the college which is allocated to the student in this mock round is NOT considered as a final admission but student can get the idea about the cutoff and admission process. Then student can go for other rounds and if he/she is satisfied with the college then he/she has to pay affiliation fees of 300/- & college fees of 1500/- as a confirmation.
