Remarks :
College management is good till 2010. But it starts degrading and still is going down. Salary is not given to teachers so they have to leave the college. We have studied many side books which were written those teachers who were the part of KEC previously, but left due to management issues.
Entrance Preview :
Given exam like OJEE(Odisha Joint Entrance Examination), AIEEE. In 2011, KEC comes under one of the top college under BPUT. One of my cousin has also done CSE, so I got this Branch, also Physics is not the thing for me.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is set by BPUT(Biju Patnaik University of Technology). It's a standard course that is governed by all colleges under this university. Though, course lacks few coding subjects like python, c#. We had learnt them by our own. Like mine CSE, I have learnt C, C++, Java, System Programming, with 2 project in the final year.
Internships Opportunities :
No, Frankly saying their nothing like this. That's the one thing our college lacks. Few of my friends have done their internship from other college internship campus like IIT, NIT. Else they get in touch with certain company by themselves.
Placement Experience :
Placement and job opportunites are worst. The only company that arrives in our campus for recruitment is TCS. Few others arrives, but either they are fake or they have not taken a single student. Some even not declared the result of the interview. One company arrives for mechanical department, that is totally fake.
College Events :
Each year one annual program is being organized inside the campus. Some renowned singer were called and this last for 2-3 days. Also, various types of competition were organised like Roadies, 3 Leg race, Painting, Quiz etc. Also, Saraswati Puja is organised by us in the campus with various Dance and song competition.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure was about Rs 90,000 per year. Their was also option for Hostel facility only for 1st year students which costs around Rs 42,000. In simple words, the fee structure is expensive compared to some other colleges around Bhubaneshwar but at time this college tops in one of the five colleges in BPUT.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No scholarship or loan is offered by college to their students. Though, their is option given by State government but only for those who are native of orissa.
Campus Life :
There were around 550+ students in my batch in which 300 were male and rest are female. We are from Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand. The labs were not so good. No robotics, debates were organised by college. sometimes, we only organised such events in some special occasion like annual function.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility is Great as we are given new hostel. Means new rooms, new bed, new table. Each room is shared by 3 members. The food is average. We desperatly wait for Sunday night, which gives us some special Non-veg item like Biryani, Chicken Chilli. Hostel is present inside the campus of college.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, senior students and helpful. They have helped some regarding how to study. How to prepare for interview and other stuffs.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure is as per the BPUT, In total 4 years, their are 8 semesters. each semester contains 5-6 main theory paper and 2-3 practical paper. Also, in each semester their are 2 internal exam whose marks get added in each semester. In the final year, their are 2 Project. One minor and One major.
Admission :
Given exam like OJEE(Odisha Joint Entrance Examination), AIEEE. Got good rank, done counselling through OJEE and got the seat in this college. Admission Process is very simple. We have choose some college and arrange them according to our choice. Then system will automatically assign us a college according to my choice and marks obtained by me. Then, lock the college that has given by the system in the BPUT office by given a certain fee or else wait for 2nd round counselling, you may get better college than this as per your choice if seats are vacant.
Faculty :
Before I had taken admission in this college, faculty were very good. I have got the review from the senior. but as time passes the faculty degraded due to bad management. Till my final, only few faculty are their who knows the right way to teach, others are just freshers. They start teaching after they have completed their B.Tech at the same time, they complete their M.Tech from the same college.
