Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum covers almost all the domains of MBA from marketing to finance to HR to strategy to operations everything. In 2nd year they offer a round of 75 electives to choose from. The faculties are quite experienced and quite supportive too. They have around 35-40 in-house faculties and all of them are highly qualified from the top IIMs only.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships have been provided by the college itself and they have a record of 100% placement record for the internship program too. There are offers of above 1 lakh per month too with the average stipend ranging from 60000-70000.
Placement Experience :
The campus placement is one of the best things about IIM Amritsar. In 2022, they have an average placement of 1452000 and are supposed to hit 15.50 lakhs average placement this year. The college secured 100% placement this year too with a batch size of around 240 odd people. There are a lot of offers of above 20 lakhs for the students this year. Overall, placement wise the college is doing so great.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is like we have to pay around 2,67,000 per trimester plus 25000 for the mess. There are 6 trimesters, so a total of 17.50 Lakhs needs to be paid by us for the whole two-year course. There is around a 25% hike in the fees from the previous year's fees. The top 7 students according to the grade point in the first year get a scholarship of about 5 lakhs and the college guaranteed 100% placement. Recently, IIM Amritsar achieved 100% placement this year too.
Campus Life :
IIM Amritsar is still in its transit campus. Their campus is still in work in progress. Life at the transit campus is also fun with lots of events for the students to chill out and relax during the hectic MBA life. People are quite supportive here and are there for each other just like family members. There are 9 committees and various clubs and cells. The library has access to a lot of portals and books too. The classrooms are well equipped with AC and heaters in the winter. They have their official sports event named as Kritansh which is an enthralling event with IPL-like an auction for the students. It stretches around 2-3 months.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are double sharing as of now. Hostels are equipped with all the basic facilities like washing machines, sports equipment, etc. One chair and table, a mattress, one almirah, etc. have been provided to the student. Regular bus facilities from the rented accommodation to the transit campus have been provided.
Admission :
The admission process was similar to other IIMs' admission processes. Firstly IIM Amritsar sent us a cut-off mail through the CAT score and we have to apply through a form whose charge is 1000 for general. After that, they shortlisted students for a personal interview round, and based on the interview and the CAT score they shortlisted the final students for admission. There were 5-6 lists issued by them.
Interview Experience :
Due to the covid times, there were only personal interview round which was held online through the zoom portal in the month of March. Interview generally revolve around the personality of the candidate and some recent topics trending in the news at that time.
