Remarks :
We had to go through an entrance test known as TISSNET where we have to attempt 100 MCQ questions and then there was a cut-off that we have to qualify in order to proceed to the next step of the admission process. The next step is known as extempore where we have to write why we chose this course and other details about ourselves then we have this last stage of the admission process which is the personal interview where the panel asks us questions based on the extempore that we had filled and also questions apart from that. Then based on our scoring we are given admission and yes there are reservation benefits for SC/ST people they have a slightly different cut-off from others. All the details usually get available on the official TISS website 2-3 months before the entrance exam. College should take less time in passing information and do things fast
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is designed in such a way to gain knowledge from every field, they help us in having clarity in choosing our field for the future. I thought to try something different, not going into the mainstream line so that's why I chose this course. The faculties are experts in their respective fields and have a pool of vast knowledge. Their teaching methods are unique and fun sometimes. The exams are often at a medium level because the syllabus is vast we often find it difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
For a bachelor, there is a 1-month compulsory internship and in MASW the students have to go for field work and they are under the guidance of a supervisor and the supervisor helps them in finding a good organization and guides them for the further process in our fieldwork. The process is slow and but its a good learning experience
Placement Experience :
Here placement is only for Masters students and the placement starts from the final semester, bachelor students do have placement but it comes in the form of fellowships as a teacher post such as teach for India, Gandhi fellowship, and a few more. The highest package was 15 lakhs this year and usually, around 80% get placement.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is around 38,000 per semester in Masw and it begins from that then it keeps on reducing every semester but for some it's high and for some it's low. there was a just hike in the food charges and yes the college does provide student aid and they help us in connecting with government scholarships.
Campus Life :
The campus is basically under construction campus but it for academics it has the infrastructure, it has a library with different sections, multiple reading rooms, designated dissertation room, there are different societies in the college run by the students some of them are campus zephyr - the official newsletter of college, asavari - the dance and music society.
Hostel Facilities :
We have a flat system like a 3bhk with 6 people living in a flat, with WiFi facility in all flats and the food is a mess system with average food quality. Here nearby also nearby the college there are many PGs where you can rent with tiffin service.
Interview Experience :
There was a personal interview round where we had to speak on any random topic for 2 mins and then questions were asked according to our selected course and also general questions about ourselves. I used to watch YouTube videos for TISS personal interviews which helped me to some extent.
