Remarks :
I joined TISS after completing my graduation from North Eastern Hill University with Sociology Honors. The admission process started after I was qualified for TISSNET, which is an all-India-level competitive exam. According to my acquired cut-off, I was eligible for the Guwahati campus where I had to go through another two exams including essay writing and personal interview. The interview rounds were tiresome but went down very smoothly. I am very proud to be a part of the TISS fam which gave me a lot of theoretical and practical exposures. I also developed my soft skills. I can't thank this institute enough that has built me through in and out, the person I am today.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course Livelihood and Social Entrepreneurship provides a bright career to anyone who wants to pursue their career in an NGO, Thinktank, Government policies, and also with the corporate sector who holds an entrepreneurial mindset. The class holds a total strength of 21 students. The faculties are really friendly and guide every student to make sure they are clear with everything regarding their course. The teaching method is easy for every student to understand and the internship plus assignments make the exam process smoother.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are mandatory for every MSW student but for the Social Sciences students internships are optional. Every MSW student goes through one internship every semester, so there are four internship opportunities for the students in these two years course of four semesters.
Placement Experience :
The campus placement is provided by the constant effort by the placement team that is chosen by the students themselves. But due to the current situation, placement opportunities were lessened up making some students struggle for job opportunities.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees structure are a little costly but they also provide student aid facility for the students who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to provide them an equal opportunity to learn from any course they desire.
Campus Life :
Campus life is very friendly with cool professors and classmates. Since the campus is newly built and still building, the students are still trying to adjust to the campus and accommodation. Travel facility is a bit hard as the college is built on the outskirt and college only provides bus facilities. So if someone does not have their own vehicle, they need to go for public transport which gets a little hard sometimes.
Interview Experience :
After being qualified in TISSNET, students are required to go through two stages those are, Group discussion and Personal interview. The campus is selected according to students' marks acquired in TISSNET and the cut-off mark for the course they have chosen.
