Challenging and Fun

Remarks :

There are many modes of admission to IIIT Hyderabad some of which are through JEE Mains, UGEE, KVPY, Olympiads, DASA mode etc. I took admission through JEE Mains, so I will tell you about this. Admission to branches CSE and ECE is provided only through JEE Mains. You need to secure an AIR below 1000 to get a CSE and below 2000 to get ECE. There's separate counselling for IIIT Hyderabad for admission and is not listed in the JoSAA counselling, and it starts before the JoSAA counselling. You can find the application form, fees and application dates on IIIT's official website: https://www.iiit.ac.in There's NO reservation in the college, except for a diversity pool, where a girl candidate will be offered a seat in place of a boy candidate if the ratio of girls: to boys in the batch is below a threshold. People think that IIIT'S counselling will occur with JoSAA only and misses the opportunity. People should visit the IITs website to get the latest updates if they want admission here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The reason for me taking a CSE course here is because I am passionate about computer science and also the package and placements for the CSE branch are top-notch here. The faculty: student ratio is maybe close to 1:12. Generally, faculties here are Ph.D. in their respective fields from reputed institutions outside of India, and in teaching some of them are well but the rest are alike the normal professors, we find in any IIT/NIT. In a semester, we have 2 quizzes, 1 mid-sem, and 1 end-sem, which sums up to 4 exams. The difficulty level varies from subject to subject and also depends on the proof, and how he sets the paper. If you have listened in the class properly, then it's not difficult to crack the exams.

Internships Opportunities :

For internship here may provide fewer opportunities as compared to IITs because the process is unofficial and the college provides 0 support in this and encourages students to do research intern in the college under a proof rather than working in the industry. Companies visited includes: Google-1L/month, Tower Research Capital-2L/month, Goldman Sachs-1.5L/month, JP Morgan-1.5L/month, De Shaw-1.5L/month, Rubrik-2L/month, Sprinklr-2L/month, Salesforce-90k/month, Microsoft-80k/month etc. There were companies mostly for Software development roles but some companies specific to electronics also came. Projects were based mainly on Software development. Roles offered were SDE, Quant, Product engineer, etc.

Placement Experience :

Placements here are quite fantastic. From the 7th semester onwards you are eligible for the placements and officially the placements occur in the month of December for the final year students. Companies that visit include Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Walmart, Rubrik, Tower Research Capital, etc. It depends on companies to companies how much they hier, but generally, each company takes around 10-15 students. The highest package offered last year was around 56L for SDE and an average was around 30L for SDE only. Almost 100% of students get placed. As I have already got the PPO at Salesforce, so I will be joining the company after my graduation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The annual fee here is close to 350,000 which is a bit more than in IITs. But anyways you are getting IIIT Hyderabad. There's an SBI bank that offers loans to students. The people of Telangana State who are BPL, are given admission through SPEC mode which as far as I know doesn't cost them any money. Apart from this, I don't know if any other scholarship exists. I got my internship at Salesforce for this summer 2022. The stipend for the internship was 90k/month. Later I got the PPO and the CTC offered id close to 40L.

Campus Life :

Campus life is not at par, or you can say more focused on academics. There's not much participation seen in much of the extra-curricular activities. There is a fest named Felicity which is both cultural and technical and held in February. The library is good, concerning the availability of books and decorum maintained in the library. Classrooms are decent enough. Chair and tables are good and the rooms are air-conditioned. Sports facilities are there, but it depends upon you how much time you devote. Just like any regular college, everything happens here also like the Sports day, Cycling event, Marathons, etc. Inter-college, Inter-house competitions are held annually. Social groups include the Sports club of IIIT.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are good enough equipped with all the necessary things like a fan, table, chair, lights, windows, circuit board, almirah, bed, etc. Also, there's a washing machine on each floor and a water cooler. The washrooms are common. The food is really good. There are 4 messes namely: North, South, Kadamb, and Yuktahar. Yuktahar serves plain food free of oil and spices. Non-veg is served twice-thrice a week in Kadamb mess. While North Indian food can be found in the North mess and South Indian food in the South mess. A menu is fixed at the start of the semester which is followed weekly. There's an online mess portal through which you can change the mess and also cancel the mess, and the prices for each mess same. Non-Veg biryani in Kadamb mess costs a bit more than the normal price. Breakfast: 30, Lunch: 50, Dinner: 50. There are 2 boys' hostels named Bakul Niwas, Palash Niwas(OBH: Old Boys Hostel), and a girl's hostel named: Parijat Niwas.

Other Applied Colleges

IIT Kanpur - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITK] | Bachelor of Science [BS] (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I think that most of us the course curriculum was outdated as it is older than the birth of the students According to my understanding I suggest you to update the curriculum based on the current technology and advancement in the industry requirements
