I had appeared for IIT JEE and OJEE. My score in IIT JEE was poor. However I had scored 2546 (general) and 612(ladies quota) in OJEE. So I got admitted in SIT a reputed private engineering college of Odisha. My father is a electrical engineer in BHEL so I was tempted to choose EEE as my engineering course.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The year is divided into semesters each containing 4-5 course and 2 field experience. This gave us a strong knowledge on the subjects as well as hand-on experience. Along with the technical details we were also taught disciplinary skills which groomed us from within.
Internships Opportunities :
As our course was electrical and electronics we did our internship from a power plant. Staffs were helpful and cleared our doubts whenever possible. TCS,Infosys,Wipro, Vedanta,Jindal,CESCO,Nokia were some of the companies which offered internship with a few local companies.

Gender ratio was 60:40 (male:female). As I stated these were the best 4 years of my life. We had fun studying as well as bunking classes together. There were compulsory soft skill sessions and attendance should be 75% for all. Sports meet was held every 2 years. People who are enthusiastic on sports could avail the facility after 5pm daily which was also open on weekends whole day. Yoga and aerobics were part of curriculum. Movies were shown on weekends. Technical competitions were held every year which was open for all colleges .
Hostel Facilities :
There was separate hostel for girls and boys. Rooms were 2 sharing and space adequate. There was enough hostel rooms as the authority had planned to make the college fully residential. Canteen food was good and healthy and everything was kept clean.
Alumni/Alumna :
All of are still connected with each other thanks to the social networking sites specially Facebook events and make it whenever possible. There was healthy ragging in the first year of the college but then we had very good relation with our seniors. They helped us with the previous notes and exam papers.
Exam Structure :
There were semester exams along with 3 internal exams. Lab tests were held bi-annually. We never found the tests hectic. In fact the whole college experience was enjoyable specially the lab sessions which provided us real time experience.
