Remarks :
For b.tech students can get admission through the JEE-MAINS exam the form of which is easily available on the NTA's website. At my time I think for general candidates another state cutoff rank was min. 48k. But if you are a resident of Haryana (Home state ), you can get it with less than 50k too.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very good as our new director is focusing on other activities too. Faculty members are also good in their respective areas. All of them are Ph.D. holders. There are smart boards in all classrooms and most of the teachers use them. There are two mid-term examinations and one end sem in each semester. Attendance of 75% is strictly required to sit in the end sem exam. Mid-term exams are often easy. Sometimes endsem gets too tough.
Internships Opportunities :
Siemens' branch is available on the campus for interns of core branches like mechanical and production. About every student gets an internship in the 3rd yr. And some of them also get pre-placement offers. But to get the internship you have to work hard if you are incorrect branches.
Placement Experience :
Placement is very good for CS, IT, and ECE students. And for core branches, it is also more than average. The average package is about 12lac per annum for CS, and IT. This year's highest package is 45lac per annum. A package of 44 lac is given to a mechanical branched senior. Placement for production engineering is also more than average.
Fees and Financial Aid :
Fees are the same as other NITs, just different in some extra charges. For the first semester, it is about 90k and it is around 72k per sem for the rest of each semester for the institute fee. And mess fees are 30k per semester. For students of GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC of income below 1lac per annum, the tuition fee is fully waived, for income between 1 to 5 lac 2/3rd of the tuition fee gets waived. And for SC/ST tuition fee is fully waived without any income certificate. Mess fee is the same for all category students.
Campus Life :
Campus life is very good at NIT Kurukshetra. Students are enjoying themselves here a lot. Brahmsarovar is the most visiting place here which is about 2km from the campus. There are many clubs and societies run by the students in the college. Clubs and societies are full of fun and knowledge and helpful in all types of skill development. You can find out about every passion-related group here. Techspardha, confluence, and Utsav are major events here.
Hostel Facilities :
There are three types of rooms here - triple seater, double seater, and single-seater. Triple seater is allowed to first-year and sometimes second-year students too. But in most cases after the first year, every student has a single-seater room. Every single seater rooms have a LAN portal in most of the hostels but in some hostels there is wifi. A study table, chair, bed, almirah, etc. In every room. Except for first-year students' hostels, every hostel is very good. Mess food is average in some hostels and more than average in some hostels. The student mess committee can decide on the menu here.
