Remarks :

The college had been a part of my amazing journey. I had enjoyed every stage at the College. Even the admission procedure was very easy. I got the admission through the merit based after the cut off came. I got my selection to the college in the second cut off. Being from general category I was required to maintain little high score in the GATE Exam as well as in my bachelor's to be eligible for the admission I did it. I did not face any such difficulty while submitting my application just undergone interview process where few questions asked me about the course and few were from general topics. I had submitted my application through the official website and paid INR 250 as registration fees.

Entrance Preview :

To be eligible for the course I had submitted GATE exam score where my score was 700. With this score it was not easy to be in the best colleges but i say that was my luck that I got into the college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course was easy and amazing. I had studied about the Discrete Mathematical Structures, Data Structures, Programming Paradigms And Pragmatics, Digital Logic Design, Analysis And Design Of Algorithms, Theory Of Computation, Computer Architecture, Databases, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Software Engineering. Mostly the topics related to the subjects which I had studied in my bachelor's only. The faculty had used the latest technological methods to teach in an impressive manner.

Internships Opportunities :

I had worked as an intern with few startups as a product analyst. The work was entirely diffence from my course but just to have some sort of experience in the sector I had worked there. I had recieved a salary of ₹12000 per month.

Placement Experience :

IIT Ropar Placement percentage is 84.96%. A total of 96 students got placed among 113 registered students. The top sectors in the placement drive are IT, Finance, Consulting, Core Engineering. Unlike other IITs, IIT Ropar has top PSU recruiters such as DRDO, ISRO, Indian navy, Coal India, Hindustan Petroleum, Indian Oil, and ONGC. The median salary provided was ₹12 lakh per annum. Top recruiters: Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Directi, Ericsson. I was not placed with any firm but I started my own business after clearing my master's.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I had paid ₹25000 as my annual fees which I had paid in 2 installments. There was a cost of ₹700 for books, ₹800 for health care fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I had applied for the scholarship program. But could get any as I was informed that I am not eligible for them. However, it was not easy to get the scholarship.

Campus Life :

My campus life had been amazing. It has a lot to offers. There were regular events conducted at the campus. It offers amazing infrastructure and beautiful seminar halls. Events the campus resides in the the urban area which offers availablity to explore the city. There were clubs and organisations, and I had participated in the students organization elections and won it, later chosen as a secretary for the same.

Hostel Facilities :

The university offers hostel facility within a minimum range. But I had my family residing in India itself so I did not bother to check about the hostel facility. However, I had heard that the food provided was delicious and proper hygienic conditions were maintained.

Admission :

I got admission through the merit based. I had 8.79 GPA in my bachelor's of computer science. During my bachelor's I had prepared for the GATE Exam and secured good marks fair enough to get into the college.

Faculty :

The university has a faculty strength of 175 members holding 10-15 years of work experience on average. The prominent faculty profiles include Dr. Subrahmanyam Murala, who has post-doctoral experience at the University of Windsor, Canada. Dr. Ashish Sahani is Ph.D. holder of IIT Madras and has postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the University of Michigan. They had been amazing people and always helpful whenever required.

Interview Experience :

I had undergone a single interview. There were 5 members sitting there who had asked me few questions related to my subject. I was also asked about my future plans and ambitions. The interview was quite interesting and easy.

Admission:

The process to get the admission is very straight forward. For P.G. degrees you should have 50% aggregate in your bachelors and your merit in your GATE. After you have qualified the selection round you will have to appear in a common entrance test (CET). Before applying you should remember that this university has reservation of 85% seats for the students of Punjab and only 15% for the students of other states.

Placement Experience:

Their are a lot of great opportunities served to the students by the college. They can go to on-campus interviews. The college also do a special selection for the bigger companies. Through the help of college most of the students placements, almost 60-70 percents gets recruited in different companies.
