Remarks :

IITs are best in business and studying from an IIT is like a dream come true. IIT Ropar is one of the top-rated engineering colleges of India which is popularly know for it placement and research opportunities. The cutoff standards of the college are also not too high. I was able to clear my JEE exam and I have secured 78% in my 10+2. Not only I was able to meet the cutoff eligibility criteria but I was also able to secure my seat in IIT Ropar during my JOSAA counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of the college is very good and is up to the standards of IIT means the curriculum is up to date and meets all industrial norms. The curriculum also gives us good opportunities for research work and project activity.

Class Size : 55Course Fees : INR 262000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

The internship is part of the curriculum means it is compulsory for every one of us to complete at least 9 weeks of the internship program. We have to register our details like domain, name, interest area of work to the placement committee so that they can help us out to identify a company for internship. The average internship stipend is around 55k.

Placement Experience :

IIT Ropar is itself popular for its placement standards nothing to complain about it. The college has a record of 100% placement record and all thanks to the placement committee of the college. The placement committee is responsible for placement during the time of internship when we have registered the details the placement committee properly takes it into consideration and helps us to get placed into the company of our domain and interest. The highest package for our batch was around 48 LPA and the average package is around 18 LPA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college complete course fee is around 9 lakh but the return on investment is very good the college meets the IIT standards of placement. The college also runs scholarship programs like Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship, Scholarship for M.Tech/M.S students, Scholarship for PhD. Scholars, etc. To gather more information about the college scholarship program and the eligibility criteria one can visit the college's official website.

Campus Life :

The campus life of the college is very good. The college also organizes fests like ADVITIYA technical fest of the college, ZEITGEIST cultural fest and AAROHAN sports fest. The labs are modern and all types of modern tools are available in the lab for every department and every department have different labs. The college library is the house of many international books from around the world. The college infrastructure is also very well maintained.

Hostel Facilities :

The rooms are available on double accommodation. The rooms are big enough with proper ventilation. The rooms have basic facilities like beds, study tables, almirahs, and the rooms also have LAN cable connectivity. The hostel mess food is good and cooked in a hygienic space. The hostel staff properly maintains the hostel decorum. The hostel campus also has a high-speed WiFi facility. The hostel has 24 hours of power and water supply. At rs 12000 hostel is very good and worth it.

Hostel Fee : INR 12000 per year

Faculty :

The college is very popular for its faculty standards. The faculty is of Ph.D. level and their research work is published in many international journals which is very beneficial for us. The faculty is the one that guides us and prepares us for good placement offers.

From passing 2nd year onwards students are eligible for the placements classes which costs around 10-12k till 4th year. I'm from mechanical field so the highest package is around 18 lakhs and average package goes to 4-6 lakhs.

You learn programming and languages with the help of faculty and for every student there is computer available with all equipments. Inside LPU: Student's prespective

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as I was passionate about coding from my 10th class and technology always fascinates me. In our class, total students were 70 which was same for most of the sections. Some faculty members of my college were good while most of them were tolerable. Most of them had masters degree and some had done PhD. They were focused mostly on the curricullum designed by the university and completed syllabus within the timeline.Our college had separate marks for attendance and any student with below 75 attendance will not be able to give end term exams except for some medical condition. We had CAs (class assement exams), mid term exams and end term exams. The CAs are little bit higher level as that of mid and end terms exams. Overall exams are moderate to higher and someone who had studied the syllabus topics and followed the faculty members will easy pass the exam.

A Closer Look at LPU: A Student's Perspective

Placement Experience:

Placement of cse is very good with respect to other branches. Almost 70–80% of eligible students(having cgpa more than 6.67) get placed in different mnc’s. 1.package less than 4 lacs 80% of placed students get package of less than 4 lacs in companies like cognizant,tcs,techmahindra etc. 2.package in between 4–7 lacs 15% of placed students falls in this category,they get companies like bosch,yodlee,hitachi etc. 3.package of approx 15 lacs Remaining 5% students get placement in amazon(package 16 lpa) which visit lpu every year.

Only one thing I hate about college is they don't paint the building outside of the whole college for income tax purpose I think this is very disappointing thing of the college But otherwise College is good.
