Remarks :
IIT Patna is one of the new members of the IIT family. We all know the IIT value in education. As I also wanted to be part of IIT college so I focused a lot on my GATE exam preparation and my GATE score was between 650 to 700. And I started searching for IIT college according to my GATE score and my search stopped at II Patna as the college was according to my preference like good student-faculty ratio, good engineering program, good placement record, and most importantly budget. IIT Patna was perfect according to my preference. To be part of the IIT Patna candidate must clear the GATE exam and must secure a minimum of 60% at the bachelor's degree level and 55% marks for SC/ST/PD students followed by a PI round in the college campus. During the admission process GATE exam carries 70% weightage and the PI round carries 30% weightage. If you have any kind of work experience related to your field it is also considered and you are given more weightage.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum of the college is according to the latest industrial norms. The curriculum of the program is divided into 4 semesters whereas the first 2 semester focuses on the basic concepts and importance of AI, Software testing, Distributed system, introduction to network science and many more and the last two semester focuses on the wireless network, computer and network security, etc. The curriculum is designed to understand the importance of technology and computer system in today's industry and the impact of technology in the development of industries.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship program of the college help us to understand the working environment of the corporate world and gives us an insight into the work culture of the industry. We are eligible for an internship program after completing the first year of our program. The college placement committee helps us to identify and provide internships according to our program and interest. Around 30+ companies participate in the summer internship program of the college. The stipends usually range from Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 96000/-.
Placement Experience :
Honestly speaking I did not expect such good placement packages from IIT Patna means I was expecting the highest package around 15 to 17 LPA but it exceeded beyond my expectation the highest package for our batch was 45 LPA and the average package was around 21 LPA. Frankly speaking, IIT Patna provides the best return on investment it is worth being part of IIT Patna. Companies like AG Measurematics, Bajaj Auto Ltd, DRDO, BSNL, NTPC, Hyundai Motors, Microsoft, Google, Infosys, Wipro visited the campus during the placement drive of the college. Around 11+ companies participate in the college placement drive.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college provides scholarships to ts merit students and scholarships for SC.St is also available. Scholarship programs like Merit cum Means Scholarship, Central Sector Scholarship Scheme, Prime Minister Scholarship Schemes are available so that students from different sections can be available top-notch education. Campus Life :
Frankly speaking probably I am not the right person to tell you about campus life as most of my time was indulged in studies and some research work. But I can do tell you about the fests. The college organises the number of quiz completion, conclave, guest faculty lectures, and sports events. The library of the college is equipped with lots of books from around the world and from all types of authors. The labs of the college are equipped with all kinds of modern equipment that are very helpful during the research and project work.
Hostel Facilities :
The rooms of the hostel are available on single and double occupancy according to the program. The hostel is well maintained and the rooms are cleaned every alternate day. The mess food is tasty and hygenic. The hostel also has 24 hours high-speed internet facility. The hostel is full of all kinds of necessary facilities that are required for students. The hostel is worth the money.
Faculty :
The faculty of the college is good and very well experienced. The college does not compromise with the quality of the faculty as most of the faculty are Ph.D. level with good research experience. Some of the faculty research papers are published in many international journals. The faculty and student ratio is around 1:10 which creates a healthy student and teacher interaction.
