Remarks :

I had Given Manipal Entrance Exams and had the counseling process done in SMIT and got a CSE branch there, and ECE was offered in Manipal Mahe Campus. Since I wanted the CSE branch I opted for the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. As far as I remember the Admission Form for giving entrance cost around 1000 rupees in 2019 The Admission cell has been helpful in all aspects of streamlining admissions.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course is followed as per the prescription of AICTE. Minor Specializations are also provided for skill enhancement. Faculties are helpful with personal guidance to students, Teacher to student ratio is good. Students are encouraged to participate in many events and research seminars. Also, the live projects and infrastructure of the campus are excellent.

Class Size : 83Course Fees : INR 400000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The Fee for 4 years of B-Tech CSE is 16 lakhs, you can also check the fee structure on the official website. The Placement Scenarios of students are excellent with an average package of 4.7 ~ 6.0 LPA The Global Alumni communication of Manipal Group is excellent and this acts as a major advantage if the students wish to climb up the corporate ladder quickly. Opportunities provided are good for Industrial training, Minor / Major projects as well as placements where the T&P cell will assist students in every step. They also provide specialized Pre-Placement Training tailored for cracking placements with basics to advanced levels of teachings. The Scholarships are also provided to deserving students.

Campus Life :

The Infrastructure is excellent with all the facilities, The Social Life is amazing as there are mass-scale events almost every weekend with DJ nights and club events, There are clubs in various domains which works actively on campus from the technical, cultural, musical, gaming, sports, readers/writers, MUN e.t.c lot many engaging activities make you forget about the term "Boreing". As per your interest, the students join various groups and clubs.

My admission and life at SMIT

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active and well equipped to bring recruiters from diverse group of organisations. The pre final and final year students are allowed to sit for interview. The highlight this year for me was Mercedes Benz hiring a student from Mechanical Department giving a very high package. A good chunk of people get placed every year. I am also looking forward to placement opportunities on campus, I believe there'll be enough opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because this course can help me learn both the coding and electronics part. Faculties are well qualified but sometimes they are not able to explain the things and sometimes they also avoid our doubt if we chok in the middle. We appear for three term exam in every 2 months. Some subjects are very difficult to pass because we are unable to understand them in class

Placement Experience:

After 5th semester, the college has on-campus internship options and after during 7th semester, you will be eligible to sit for campus placements. Many companies come for campus placement including IBM, NVIDIA, Deloitte, etc. PLacements for CSE, ECE, and EEE are very good. In 2023 highest placement was from EEE of 44 lakhs from NVIDIA. In Mechanical most of the students get PPO. For Civil, very least options are available. Usually, 80% of students get placed every year.

All the courses are very good here. All faculties have done phd in their respective domains. There are at least 4 lab technicians in one lab. There are all types of labs available. Teachers are very friendly. We get funds for our projects from our college.

My college overall experience!

Placement Experience:

Several companies come for campus placement. Third years are elligible for summer internships and fourth years can get placement + Internship offer for the last semester internship. The college provides us with pre-placement training which is very helpful which I'm currently undergoing. The placement record of the college has been satisfactory till now. We also get sessions from alumnus who tell us their experience and guide us through their experience. The placement drives can be improved hope for more companies and more opportunities to be given to every students.
