Remarks :

There were many factors: 1. IIT brand 2. Top Ranking of college 3. Facilities and location (just 45km from Chandigarh) 4. My Jee advance ranking The best part of IIT Ropar is its research quality, well qualified faculty, good student to faculty ratio. I opted this course due to my jee advance ranking.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our course is updated in 2017 which was prepared by collaboration iisc Bangalore with IIT Ropar. We have regular talks from industrial professional like BRO, IOC, RAMBOLL. Also, regular workshop is conducted by the industrial experts. Mitesh surana from civil engineering department is the most helpful and have teaching style.

Class Size : 8Course Fees : INR 115000 per year

Placement Experience :

For sde role- Amazon, Flipkart, American express, Goldman Sachs etc. For non core- Raams grp, newerra, American express, irage, etc. For core - l&t, ramboll, Emerson, Tata consultancy

College Events :

Zeitgeist: is a cultural fest of IIT Ropar with a footfall of more than 30000. In last edition, we had stars like Diljeet Dosanjh. Other best parts of fest are EDM, silent DJ, KTM show. Advitiya: is technical fest of IIT Ropar with a footfall of more than 20000. Last edition, we witnessed isro exhibition, army tank shows. Participation of more than 60 colleges with 2000 participation from all over of the country. Aarohan: is sports fest of IIT Ropar with a footfall of more than 12000. More than 20 colleges participated in it.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

MCM (merit cum means) scholarship is one of the 4 major scholarship of our college. In this a student having more than 6.5 CGPA and family income less than 500000 can available this scholarship, get reimbursed tution fees as well 1000 rs monthly transferred in their bank account.

Campus Life :

IIT Ropar is one of the 8 IITs established in 2008, so our campus is constructed with latest technology. We have all required amenities like sports complex, gym in each hostel, fast WiFi throughout the campus, big library, and most advanced equipment in labs.

Hostel Facilities :

Everyone student necessarily to opt hostel facility in our college. Our college is designed in modern style having 2 guys a room and 1 guy a room set. There are 3 hostels for boys, q hostel for girls and one married couples with a capacity of 300 student in each hostel. The rentals cost is 14000, it is combined cost of mess and hostel for a semester. It is easy to avail hostel facility

Placement Experience:

From passing 2nd year onwards students are eligible for the placements classes which costs around 10-12k till 4th year. I'm from mechanical field so the highest package is around 18 lakhs and average package goes to 4-6 lakhs.

Inside LPU: Student's prespective

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as I was passionate about coding from my 10th class and technology always fascinates me. In our class, total students were 70 which was same for most of the sections. Some faculty members of my college were good while most of them were tolerable. Most of them had masters degree and some had done PhD. They were focused mostly on the curricullum designed by the university and completed syllabus within the timeline.Our college had separate marks for attendance and any student with below 75 attendance will not be able to give end term exams except for some medical condition. We had CAs (class assement exams), mid term exams and end term exams. The CAs are little bit higher level as that of mid and end terms exams. Overall exams are moderate to higher and someone who had studied the syllabus topics and followed the faculty members will easy pass the exam.

A Closer Look at LPU: A Student's Perspective

Placement Experience:

Placement of cse is very good with respect to other branches. Almost 70–80% of eligible students(having cgpa more than 6.67) get placed in different mnc’s. 1.package less than 4 lacs 80% of placed students get package of less than 4 lacs in companies like cognizant,tcs,techmahindra etc. 2.package in between 4–7 lacs 15% of placed students falls in this category,they get companies like bosch,yodlee,hitachi etc. 3.package of approx 15 lacs Remaining 5% students get placement in amazon(package 16 lpa) which visit lpu every year.
