Remarks :

I had over 60% in my bachelor's degree. After being shortlisted on the basis on the basis of my CAT scores of over 90%, I was called for a group discussion and personal interview round. I had applied to IIT Madras by submitting an online application through its official website. The application form cost me Rs.1600. I was encouraged to apply here by its top rankings. Its MBA program ranked #1 in Chennai by NIRF. MBA was one of the most sought after courses, hence I chose to apply here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My two-year MBA program trained us to become capable managers. Through the curriculum, we got an overall learning experience in regards to the theory of management and hands-on practice. The mode of learning in our program included Classroom teaching, Case discussions, Hands-on management, Internship in industry and project work. As for the faculty, we had a large and diverse faculty of over 600 members, all of them held PhDs in their respective fields.

Placement Experience :

Top recruiters like McKinsey, Accenture, Dell, EMCO, RBS, CHALO, GE, CISCO, Amazon, IBM, and HCLparticpated in the drive for our MBA batch. 24 top companies made job offers to almost 50 students of my batch, resulting in a 100% placement rate. The average package that my batch was able to secure was almost 14.4 lakhs and the highest salary package went over 29 lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I had to pay around 8 lakhs for my 2 years program MBA. I couldn't secure a scholarship but the institute did assist me in obtaining an educational loan from a bank, during the admission process. And I was also able to earn during the summer internship program. I worked with Amazon for 4 weeks and during that time I was being paid Rs.90000 per month.

Campus Life :

At IIT Madras, we were able to enjoy convenient and enriching campus life with facilities like a well-oriented library with over 20 lakh books, medical facilities, food, sports, etc. Several clubs were also available for us to join, Arts - Kalakriti, Analytics - Enigma, Debate - Rhetorica, Economics - Arthonomics, Finance - Fin-Addicts, HR - FoHRum, and Marketing - Mercado, to name some. I was a part of the Marketing Club and through the club activities, I was able to put my theoretical knowledge into practice.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are not as good as you expect from a B-School. The highest salary package offered to be 20 LPA, and most of us are to console with a salary package ranging from 6 to 7 LPA. However, almost 95% of the students got placed, but it was noticed that some of them got salary packages ranging from 4 to 5 LPA, and even some got lower than that.

Remarks:

The college helped me to achieve great success in this domain. Moreover, the academics parameter of the college was amazing and the non-academic arena was also impressive. I learned from both of them.

Perfect hangout with food, fun and frolic, our cafeteria boasts of a wonderful gastronomic tour. Offering oriental, Indian, continental menus, this cafeteria is one of the hot-spots in the campus. The details about the placement and job opportunities provided to the students are fully known to me and it was amazing.

Entrance Preview:

I took CAT for my MBA admissions in Top B-Schools but unfortunately my score is not up to the standard required in LIBA (Loyola Business School). So my next choice is SRM , there in addition to CAT i was made to take SRMCAT which has same standard as CAT. After that i got score to get into SRM institute of Management.

Admission:

I got admission in SRM institute of management.Initially we have to get application form from admission dept. The admission process is of two phases in which on Phase 1- We have to pay the Fee mentioned (Full fees or partial) and we have to get the Fee receipt. Phase 2 will be just before the college opening and in that we have to give all certificates needed and it will be verified.

Remarks:

Very good education i could get ' Value for Money' then as we were all Ist gen professionals trying hard for a degree and a future. I would say what I learnt from the University in a rural setting was 'Values'. As the saying goes : 'Valuables' are valuable but 'Values' are invaluable.
