Hardeep Singh's Review On Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute Of Management Development & Research - [WeSchool], Mumbai

Entrance Preview :

I took MBA CET entrance exam and scored 98.9 percentile. We school is among the top 5 institutes in Mumbai and has good campus placement.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is as per the Mumbai University Syllabus. First year at MBA is common. However there are options of different specialisations like HR Operations Finance Marketing to choose from in the second year. The curriculum is designed to give overall idea to students about MBA in first year and based on their interest level & career plan students can choose the specialisation in the second year.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are generally defined for a period of 8 weeks during the months of May and June, when students break from their academic program. Some of the prominent organisations.

Placement Experience :

This year, 255 companies visited the institute for Executive Placement. From among these 118 companies were first timers on campus, which made it a very interesting choice for the students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I had not availed any loan facility. I was eligible for minority scholarship of INR 25000 per year.

Campus Life :

Gender Ratio: M:F 3:2. Lot of events, workshops and activities happen to enhance different skill set of students. The Yoga and Meditation cell organises programs conducted by eminent instructors. Given the high levels of stress in today’s highly competitive environment, it’s a perfect way to relax the body, mind and soul.

Exam Structure :

Exam structure and assignments projects can sometimes get hectic. Lot of presentations to be made in each subject. The written exams are conducted every six months. Each semester has 6-8 subjects. Working in teams over a 13 week period students grapple with current, real-world challenges facing organisations.

Placement Experience:

There is a dedicated placement cell that looks at the placements of MBA students. The final year students sit for placements. Until now the placements are not so good but it is improving at a steady rate. Companies such as Accenture, Deloitte, Flipkart, Amazon, ICICI Bank and others come for placements. I don’t have a clear idea about the packages offered but it was around 7-8 LPA on an average.

Placement Experience:

Placements here are decent. The average package of the batch is around 8 lakhs, which is nice considering the pandemic. A lot of good companies visit the campus like Goldman Sachs, Ernst, and Young, KPMG, Deloitte, etc. So, if you perform well here then you can get a good placement from the campus.

Remarks:

College is a little fast paced. Each semester lasts only for 3 months where we have to study 8 subjects in addtion to assignment, presentation, class tests.Social life gets affected if you are a localite as you have to travel to powai which isn't well connected via metro and railways.

Entrance Preview:

I got admission on the bases of my undergraduate scores which was very good. Admission process of this college was good and very simple.

Placement Experience:

Companies like JP Morgan, KPMG, PWC, E&Y have come to the campus and offered 10000/- to 20000/- monthly stipend. I have attended roughly one of those. Regretfully, I cannot provide you with the details of the number of students placed and the exact amount offered because I was not a member of the placement cell. But the college had a placement cell which conducted weekly meetings and trained the students for interviews.
