Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is thoroughly updated according to modern and latest standards. The pattern is revised frequently to meet the increasing standards of the industry. Much emphasis goes on labs and research works, which make the students stand among the top engineering brains of the country. The core subjects are introduced from the 2nd semester itself which helps students to understand their course in depth. Only necessary courses are included. The faculty is highly experienced, supportive and always ready to help(even during online classes). ECE branch is divided into 2 sections, which makes the teacher-student ratio 1:60. But there also are teaching assistants who are one mail way from helping us. Some professors are highly interactive and motivating, with great passion for their subject, while some- not so much. The teaching method during online classes is usually very restricted so cannot comment much upon that, but it is still very satisfactory. Again, depends on the professor.According to the new ordinance, the system of CCLCAA ( continuous and comprehensive evaluation) implemented from 2018 onwards, frequent quizzes, viva-voce and examination take place, all of which add up in the CGPA and SGPA. There are 3 major examination in a semester C1, C2 and C3. C1 and C2 constitute of 30% weightage each and the C3 exam has 40% weightage. It is essential to pass the first 2 examinations to appear in the C3(end semester). The level of the examinations is what one expects from one of the top colleges of the country. Although it is not that tough, but still the student must study decently to pass.Viva-voce ensures that the students also focus on the labs even amidst the pandemic.
Internships Opportunities :
Not yet. The internship drive starts after the 2nd year. Many companies visit the campus for the same, and offer high stipends to the students. The companies visiting are:spriklr: 2 lac per month stipenduber: 1.5 pac per month stipendde shaw: 1 lac+ per month stipendgoogle amazongoldman sachsThe roles offered are software development intern. I do not have much idea about the projects.
Placement Experience :
The placement statistics of the college are simply brilliant. Most of the big tech and electronics companies visit the campus after the end of the 3rd year to hire the talented individuals the college possesses. Most of the students who opt for placement get a job offer. The percentage of placed students is 95+%. The companies visiting are microsoft, google, facebook, apple, nutanix, accenture, amazon, de shaw, goldman sachs etc. The profile mostly given is software engineer. Other roles may be given based on the skillset of the student. I plan to get a decent job after completion of my course. The highest salary offered in the year 2021 was upwards of 63 lacs per annum, while the average stood at 21.85 lacs per annum.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure of the college is pretty lenient keeping in mind the fees of other top institutes of the country. The fee hike is pretty expected and moderate and at the same time affordable. The tuition fee increases by INR 5000 every odd semester, while the hostel, mess and other fees is nearly constant. The cost to study is pretty low now since we are not in the campus yet. But one thing I dislike is that we were required to pay the hostel fee even though we didn't visit the hostel. No explanation as to why this happened was not given.Overall the fee is moderate, without any scholarships, it would cost around 2 lacs per annum to study ( including hostel and mess).Financial assistance was readily provided to those who could not afford/ had lost their earning members of the family in the pandemic. Merit based scholarship is also available in the institute, that is based on your CGPA. The institute is compatible with all the state and central government scholarships like MMVY ( for Madhya Pradesh students).Almost all the top tech and electronics company visit the campus for picking up candidates. The internship drive starts at the end of the 2nd year, while the placement drive in the 7th semester. The average package offered to the students stands at a whooping 21.85 lac per annum (2021). The percentage of students placed is above 95%. Some students choose to pursue higher education.
Campus Life :
Since we are the batch of the pandemic, we haven't had the opportunity to visit the campus yet. But speaking from what our seniors have told us, the campus life is great. The fests, co-curricular activities are one of the best in the northern India. Since the college is still pretty young (1999 est.), the infrastructure, is very good. Their are various clubs and societies you can join according to your interests. Some of these are: drama society, literary society, fine arts society, media and acoustics society. The sports facilities in the college are above average with most of the facilities available. There also are technical societies like TESLA, GEEKHAVEN which house the best talent of the institute, consisting of various wings( APP-Dev wing, Design wing etc.) These are run by the students and are for the students.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, since the college is fully residential, I have opted for hostel. Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit the hostel yet, so cannot comment much. From what I've heard, the rooms in the hostel are decent and the mess food is also manageable. The fee for the hostel is 12000 for one semester and that for the mess is 18000 per month. This price is very affordable.
Admission :
No, the admission was direct on the basis of JEE MAIN score. My AIR was 9627, and I was the last student in my category( general male) to get admitted in the course. For other categories, the cutoff varies. No interview was taken at any stage.
