Entrance Preview :

I gave the entrance exam of the college to opt for master of technology course. I always wanted to study in this college as this is best for chemical technology.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I think the course structure is best for being a researcher. We have critical review of a research paper and seminar. The curriculum is very difficult though but is very interesting. It is dependent right to the core of the course that we have selected. Infact, they are in very advanced level. There are no practical kind of stuffs, but it is very good to study as well as very interesting. We have got scientist who teach us.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, out college provides internship. Also, they provide stipend to the students. GATE students are provided with 13500/- and non-gate are given 10000/-.

Placement Experience :

Placements are good in our college. The legacy of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) is enough to get good placements for all students. Placements are done in well-known MNCs and Indian companies. Some of the best pharmaceutical companies hire from ICT, so don't be too shocked when you hear names like Bayer, Pfizer, etc coming in.

College Events :

A festival at the starting of the year for freshers is organised. Thereafter, inter college cultural fest, (Manzar), intra college cultural fest, intra college sports fest, inter college sports fest are celebrated at a huge scale. So why not create something "Sustainable" and "Innovative" through STEM. Something like "Sustainable Innovation through STEM".

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Rs. 89000 per year for general category same for reserved categories. Fees for Backward class candidates are applicable to the candidates from the State of Maharashtra only.

Exam Structure :

Exam and labs actually leave us chilled out. Exam questions are based on practical applications of the topics taught in the class. We should be present in the lab and always have 75% attandance. Professors at ICT are particular about attendance. A good attendance is required; around 60% at least.

Admission :

We had an admission procedure first of online test. Then the marks were displayed on the college website. Depending on the merit list the seats were offered to students. Then, Dean of the college and respective faculty were at the podium and according to the merit list, the students were called to take admission. firstly, people with GATE scored were preferred then the students who cleared the online test were called out for admission.

Faculty :

The faculty of college are highly knowledgeable. They are all scientist. Some have worked almost for 30 years in CSIR labs. They belong to the India's greatest laboratory. Also, they have well established laboratory with all kinds of instruments according to the projects. Faculty also helps students to find their own path of career, they also help them to get joined into any industry with their reference.

Course: Power Electronics, important for renewable energy and electric mobility in near future. IIT Bombay Power Electronics is 3rd best in placement after IISc & IITK. I got admission through BTech GPA and technical interview. The primary mode of admission is through GATE.

Remarks:

If DIAT can provide placements, this is one area where DIAT lacks. Other than this DIAT is a college that is comparable to the IITs, better than NITs for post-graduation courses for sure. Since this college is regarded as one of the DRDO colleges, it provides very good opportunities for research.

To pursue post-graduation in IIT, you have to clear the gate examination. After scoring a good percentile you will get calls from various colleges where you will have to face the interview. I scored 99.5 percentile in the GATE exam and being the best institute for technology, I chose IIT Powai despite being selected for many other IIT.

Admission:

After scoring well in the GATE exam, I applied for all the IIT's. The application process is online and starts immediately after the results are out. Based on your score, you will get calls from various departments of IIT. Based on your final interview score, you will be selected for the course.
