Remarks :
For M.Sc. Chemistry at ICT Mumbai, I had to appear for an entrance test. The questions were ranging from medium to tough and required lengthy calculations. The application fee was Rs. 1000. After admission, students were asked to choose whether they want to pursue a Ph.D. or sit for placements. The institute offers a year-long research project besides the normal courses. The professors are highly learned and always ready to help out any enthusiastic student.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty are highly learned individuals with much experience in the field of research. They also have a lot of connections in the industry which helps in bringing placement opportunities to the students of the department. The teachers have been really helpful in studying.
Internships Opportunities :
As stated earlier the institute has a wide reach to the chemical industry. Students get the opportunity to intern at premier chemical industries like Unilever, Asian paints, Dr. Reddy's, etc as research interns. Several students also get the opportunity to work on an industrial project, courtesy of their research supervisor.
Placement Experience :
The institute has wide reach when it comes to chemical industry. There are plenty of placement opportunities from both core and non-core industries for students who choose to appear for placement industries. Every year almost 90-95% of the students from chemistry department who opt for placement get successfully placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for the course is approx. Rs. 57000 per year. The students belonging to SC/ST and OBC communities, who are residents of Maharashtra are eligible for full fees scholarships by the Maharashtra government. Students also receive merit-cum-means scholarship opportunities from various eminent alumni of the institute.
Campus Life :
The campus houses numerous clubs and societies. Several events are conducted throughout the year which benefits the students. In terms of sports, the ICT campus houses a badminton court, a pavilion for cricket and football, and a court for basketball and voleyball.
