Remarks :
I didn't apply to any other college as this one is not only financially viable but also near to my home. I don't get any quota. Generally, University organises a written admission test,but due to corona pandemic,it provided admissions on the basis of intermediate exam results. Minimum qualification required was 12th pass from any recognised board. Admission process was quite simple,they posted merit list on their website and we need to go University,fill out a form, submit our documents, submit fees and we got admission. Counselors were very supportive and explained everything and made it further simple. He explained every column to us and gave every information we needeed in a very calm manner.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Maths was my specialty for a long time, I even got the highest marks in maths in my intermediate exams, so I decided to further study this subject. The faculty: student ratio is very reasonable. We got faculty for every subject and they are all experts. With the ratio standing at about 1:45, we all get good attention from our teachers. The teaching methods of everyone are different. Some give practical education while some prefer book knowledge. Teachers also encourage to take part in various fests and tournaments held across the year. Exams were held every three months with half the semester syllabus and every six months with a full semester syllabus. They all are pretty hard to get good marks but fairly easy to get past.
Internships Opportunities :
Companies which gives placement to students of maths Hons. Mostly offer statistical or calculative duties with spending of about 20,000. Microsoft once used our services to complete a program related to their database and helped them on organisation of information of their customers.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible in the 4th year of matters degree only. Mostly Indian companies come here like treats, Infosys, etc. But sometimes we also have Microsoft and other big companies. The highest package anyone has got was of about Rs.10,00,000 in 2017. The average package which people get is almost Rs.5,00,000. I plan to get a PhD. In statistical maths after completing masters.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As it's a government college, prices are fairly low compared to others, but it didn't compromise on quality. Fees hike are done very rarely and they also are very low and reasonable. The government also provides a lot of scholarships for almost every part of society. Jobs are mostly provided only after matters program and it can get you to start on Rs.20,000 at least
Campus Life :
University organizes an annual fest every year in the months of April or March. A lot of other fests like cultural fest,tech fest,sports fest and many others are also organised. Library is always well stocked with books not just of curriculum but also of many others like novels,gk books, preparation books etc. Library also provide journals not just offline but also have a subscription of all the reputed papers which enables everyone to remain updated. We have a basketball court, a joint cricket and football ground and a indoor badminton court. The theatre club of University is particularly good as they participate in a lot of competitions all over the nation and gives you ample opportunity to grow.
Hostel Facilities :
University has a boy and a girls hostel. Both have very spacious rooms as I live in boots hostel I can only tell you about there. We makeshifted a badminton court there, repaired a tv and had a lot of fun. Meal quality is acceptable and it provides a variety of items, my only problem is their water and toilet related problems. We have only two Geezer for almost 400 students. Some also lives in dorms, not only that we have mostly non working flushes and inconsistent supply of water. It passes a problem sometimes but mostly we come out smiling.
